Indeed, Al.

Mr. Farage had made clear his intentions to accept defeat gracefully :)

Nigel Farage: Narrow Remain win may lead to second referendum

There could be unstoppable demand for a re-run of the EU referendum if Remain wins by a narrow margin on 23 June, UKIP leader Nigel Farage has said.
It would be interesting to hear some of the Brexit supporters' views on the pronouncement here of the idiot Farage?

That would be the most sensible thing to do right now, i cant see a deal that in any way is better than staying in on offer, no deal which i dont want anyway is off the table revoke it and stop this mess.
As a leave voter it will not wash just sticking a plaster on something and calling it brexit if it leaves us in the position of being half in half out with none of the benifits of either.
If we are going to go revoke ot and come back when the time is right not in a hurry to please May.
I can understand why you are thinking along those lines mate. But I disagree with you for the reasons I stated in my post above. I believe that we are so polarised as a country now, the ONLY thing that could possibly start to bring us together is a compromise, even one that hardly anybody wants, if that makes sense. No side can claim victory, but both have a got a little bit of what they want.

Not sure if you saw it but there was a Greek guy on Question Time a couple of weeks ago and a lot of what he spoke was sense. He said that the UK was too strongly intertwined with the EU to enable us to make a clean break without great disruption and a real threat to jobs and the economy. He suggested we should have gone for a 2 phased withdrawal, whereby the first phase we stayed in the customs union and single market for a period, say 5 years. Then use that time to negotiate trade deals around the world, including one with the EU, so when phase 2 is activated we wouldn't notice the change so much.

No, I would like the result of the first referendum carried out. Leave the EU....
Right. The only problem with that is the facts that the majority of people who voted leave did not vote for No Deal, which you can evidence in polls, but now the narrative is being changed to suggest that was entirely the intention all along.

Almost every actor in the process on leave side was suggesting a type of Brexit that was undeliverable, which the public clearly took in good faith, again evidence is available in reviews and polling, and as such I'm not sure how you can legitimately say what 'honouring the initial referendum' looks like.

As perverse as that might sound, it really does underpin the principles of a Democratic society.
Also was the Greek guy Yanis Varoufakis?

Ermm
Agree with that Tim, but as regards your final question, then I'm pretty certain that the campaign to leave the EU would actually have gathered strength after the referendum. Had leave been the "48%" they would have taken that as a full on mandate to carry on their campaign.

It's why I believe revoking article 50 or having a people's vote won't resolve anything going forward. If anything it will make the leave contingent even more determined and the country more polarised. The UK could become a very toxic place to live, work and invest.

If that was the case though, revoking article 50 would have passed through parliament with a 60-40 majority..
Some of them have a conscience making the gridlock e.g. Two votes yesterday 300/300
Then a one vote majority.....
Yet one goes through as an act of Parliament yet the referendum was passed by 1.4 million votes ....
They will pay for this in the future .......
Over the last 3 Week debarcle!

Who knows ? She also said no deal is better than a bad deal. The speaker said he was going to step down and didn’t. I don’t believe a word any of them say.....

Can't you see though Pete that you were one of the most ardent advocates that the EU would blink first in this game of chicken. But the EU truck is still right in front of our car, not going anywhere. You may be insulated from the shock but there a loads of people at the front who won't be. This will cause harm to millions of people, kids already having it hard and then having it worse still. This isn't a game.

Quite correct I did not want no deal , but it was a bargaining chip with that removed if we leave now we are going to get a very poor deal - the EU are now in boss seat - thanks to a Blairite MP Yvette Cooper whose constituency voted 70 % to leave the EU - this is the anomaly of politics in the UK - she is not the only MP who has voted against the wishes of their constituents, its caused the chaos that the EU will size upon when we get to the next stage of the deal if we ever leave...... as the divorce bill is also a disaster......
