I've just shown you the leverage we had with what Trump has done with China, we have been inept in our negotiations that is clear.
So far, Trumps tariffs on crops have crippled midwest farmers who are being subsidized to the tune of $8 billion by us, the US tax payers. Meanwhile both GM and Ford have reported $1 billion each in losses due to steel tariffs. GM has announced the closure of 7 plants. All while we run up a huge national debt that gives china the ability to further control our purse strings.
Trumps stance on China isn't really a model you want to emulate in a withdrawal agreement with the EU, nevermind a trade deal.

The EU have been utter $£#$! to us throughout the entire negotiations I will give May that, because they know they'll have to trade with us if there is a no deal or not and don't want us to leave so they can govern us, they fear we'll become more prosperous being able to build new trade deals with the rest of the world to our liking and sole advantage.

Make no mistake, the vast majority of the EU hate us, jealous of our past achievements and the status we have in the world, if they'd thought we'd wither and die leaving the EU they would have made it as simple as possible for us to do so.

If you come to the conclusion that the EU have to trade freely with us, there is a massive trade deficit in their favour to do so, then what are all the remainers running scared of.

Tbh I think most relative countries see us as has beens...

This is the kind of tubthumping crap that's got us into this mess in the first place. I seriously doubt anyone cares about our past.

Is May about to call an election? surely not.
Nyet. Sorry Nein.

May will try one last ditch attempt to get her deal through next week. If this is voted down once more then Bercow will find some way for Parliament to take over proceedings. May will, at this stage, resign as PM. Parliament will make a last minute approach to the EU for a long term extension to Brexit. They will come back with all sorts of conditions which Parliament will have to accept if they are to avoid a no deal exit on 29th March. One of those conditions will likely be an election. They will insist on this because they actually have a better grasp on the situation than we do, and know that some sort of majority is required in Parliament to get a decision one way or another.

The country will need to fight the euro elections first, so I'd be shocked if we were in a position to conduct a UK general election before the autumn at the earliest, and it may even be held over until next spring. Both the EU elections and the UK elections will be fought around Brexit. I expect two new parties to come to the fore that will, at worst, dilute the vote that the 2 main parties would normally expect. It will also be interesting to see what Labours treatment of Brexit will be in their manifesto.

I haven't got a clue which way the general election will go though.

One thing has come out of all this, the parliamentary system we have needs to be totally reviewed after the antics of the last few years. It has broken down and is not fit for purpose. The role of the speaker has to be reviewed as does that of the House of Lords. Also the rules relating to hung parliaments need looking at too to prevent a repeat of the joke of a coalition that exists at the moment.

This has been a very polarised thread over the last 3 years, but I think the one thing that everyone can agree on is that Parliament has made an absolute pigs ear of this. As a country we truly have become a laughing stock.

There's lots of rumours that the 1922 committee are going to try and force her hand.

their utter desperation to keep us as part of the EU with their 'deal' shows how worried of us leaving.

we bring more to the table than most other EU states...

the EU will be scared of us building stronger trade links with the USA and China..

The EU are protecting themselves in a normal manner as you would expect. Try viewing it from their side, too many concessions and then any country has a blueprint for leaving. That would mean the EU may as well shoot itself in the head, which if it was your job to keep it going wouldn't be a smart move.
why would any other country want to leave the EU though ??? we are the only ones stupid enough to try it , we are getting told.

is it because it is terribly run , and just a money making machine for a FIFA'esq leadership I wonder
