Yes she has lost the plot completely, does she really expect everyone to just say 'oh well we'll take your deal now.'

Hopefully the Tory remainers and the DUP see it as their responsibility to vote for a motion of no confidence if she keeps on this path. She needs removing pronto.

She's hoping that Labour support it next week after the EU reject the extension. It's a pure shoot out next week it seem's. The ERG and brexiteers against Labour.

This will tear the Labour party apart also. Remember about 56% of labour seats voted to leave the EU. I'm a paid up member of the labour party and I will cancel my membership if they vote with May.

The EU has rejected her “short extension” request.

But will grant her a longer one.

I hope this means we get to vote in the European elections......just to show there is no limit to the absurdities Cameron’s Folly has unleashed on this country.

And the fact she's gotten away with it is a damning indictment on Labour.

Yeah she has put herself above party and above country.

She knows that this is her opportunity to write herself into the political history books as the PM who struck a deal with the EU and delivered Brexit.

But in pursuing her legacy she is playing Russian roulette with our nations future and it clearly is time for something completely different.

she knew that would happen this morning. They warned her about putting the June date in the letter. Like i have said above... it's a shoot out next week now.

Not looking good for May...

'The European Commission opposes extending British membership of the European Union to 30 June as British Prime Minister Theresa May proposed today, according to an EU document seen by Reuters.

In a note on the Brexit process reviewed by the Commission at its weekly meeting today, officials wrote that leaders meeting Mrs May at a summit tomorrow faced a "binary" choice of a short delay of Brexit from 29 March to before 23 May or a long delay to at least the end of this year, with Britain obliged to hold an election on 23 May for European Parliament lawmakers.

"Any extension offered to the United Kingdom should either last until 23 May 2019 or should be significantly longer and require European elections," the document said. "This is the only way of protecting the functioning of the EU institutions and their ability to take decisions."

EU states which were due to receive additional legislative seats after Brexit would need to know by mid- to late April if they would be denied those seats because Britain was staying. The note also said that in any extended membership, Britain should, "in a spirit of loyal co-operation", commit to "constructive abstention" on key issues, such as the EU's long-term budget and filling top EU posts after the May election.'

And the fact she's gotten away with it is a damning indictment on Labour.

I think May is useless but what should Labour do??? Labour voters are as split as anyone. People keep harping on about Labour voters being remainers. It's simply not true!

The reason Labour did well in the last election was because it took it's voters back from UKIP and didn't campaign on a new referendum

Again... she wanted that!!! She wanted the extension to be rejected... it's the only hope she has of getting her deal through

That would be bad news for Mark Durkan, SDLP bigwig.

Fine Gael are letting him run in a safe Dublin seat created by the re-allocation.

It's impossible to believe this wasn't known, precisely because the European elections are such an insurmountable roadblock.

She's beyond useless. The woman is deranged. I was minded of her infamous comment about fields of wheat the other day. Of course, van Gogh famously painted fields of wheat before killing himself in them. It's a perverse coincidence that ever since, they've been an archetype for depression and loneliness, mental instability, confusion, and sorrow. Wheat indeed Mrs May.

I agree she is useless. The Tories were stupid to put her in charge.

Still not sure what Labour have to do with it.

How stupid does she have to be to put June in her letter when she was already told by Juncker May 23rd is the longest a short extension could go to.

They must be banging their heads against the table, she just won't listen. Of course she could be trying to get it rejected but that means the longer extension will come into force.

She's suffered two of the biggest defeats in commons history, a vote of no confidence and numerous gaffs and bungles by her cabinet, yet is still ploughing on. The job of the opposition is to prevent the government willfully [Poor language removed] everything up.

It's an embarrassment. This whole charade is turning Britain into a laughing stock.
