See the problem is if you're stating your opinion in direct opposition to factual evidence, then you should expect to be challenged. Nobody is going to say 'i respect your opinion' if it is not grounded in evidence or factual. When it happens all the time mate it becomes tiresome. The demographics of this thread mean I'm continually defending myself, quite often against 3 or 4 at the same time. And it isn't always polite either.
Basically, I'm somebody who believes not everything is black and white. That people make their own choices and make them for a reason that suits them. I respect that and ask the same in return. I don't get that in here. What I get is people telling me I'm wrong. Nobody say's fair do's, I disagree with you but you're entitled to your opinion. I'd happily accept that but people aren't saying that.
Bottom line is I don't like people telling me what I should and shouldn't do. I don't particularly mind being challenged, except when it's the same thing over and over. It's having your response summarily dismissed I don't like.
Anyway, it'll probably do my heath better if I stayed out of here for a while. Which is a shame really as we're getting towards the nitty gritty and I was quite looking forward to the deadline day special.![]()
I could say 'i think the moon is made of cheese' now you might challenge me on that and say 'it definitely isn't'.
If my fallback is 'well it's my opinion so you should respect it' I'm not sure you would.
