They will if they sense an opportunity for us too see the light and drop any further notions of Brexit, although it may linger for a time just like a bad Guineas fart.
ha yea, the whole thing is reminiscent of my bog the day after an all day session!
But unless May calls a GE in the next two weeks, I think they'll give a pretty firm date. They don't want the economic uncertainty either.

we had control over our own immigration

No, we don't. We have limited / zero control over EU wide immigration. And that is what people voted for.... controlled immigration. Not no immigration, just controlled immigration. England is the most densely populated country in Europe and the free movement of people is imbalanced against us.

A proposal of a second referendum could also give the EU assurances to extend article 50

so you thought 'screw Wales, N.Ireland and Scotland'.

I still want to leave , but this deal offers nothing its neither got the benefits of staying or leaving,
You make a good point about the aftermath , i don't unlike yourself thing we will leave and have felt this way for some time, the establishment(parliament,EU) are just wearing the people down till they get there own way.
The problem with that is that even if we have a second vote ect .none of this does anything to change the situation around the country as to why people wanted to leave in the first place, this isn't going to blow away like unicorn tears in the wind(sorry couldn't resist;)) despite what the likes of Cable think, in fact it will be compounded the fears and anger, felt by leavers after winning the vote, then the two main parties in the election standing to uphold that vote, and witnessing their views counting for nothing in the grand scale of things, which was one of the main reasons for brexit in the first place.
We are in for a rough ride now anyway either stay or go as somebody will tap into that
I'm not sure I said I do think we will leave Edge. TBH I haven't got a 'kin clue what's going to happen. It's all guess work. What I do think is leaving with no deal will be an absolute car crash initially, and do a lot of damage in the short to medium term. To counter that I firmly believe, as I think you do, that the fall out from remaining could prove just as harmful in the long term. Britain could become toxic.

Why do you think the May deal is so bad by the way?. Personally I don't consider it a deal at all, just a withdrawal agreement. All the work on our future relationship is still to be done and we have the best part of 2 years to negotiate this. I also believe the EU want a good trade deal as much as we do and probably have more reason to avoid the backstop so they can protect their precious freedom of movement clause.

I think the EU will only agree to an extension if there is either a 2nd referendum or a General Election. There is no point in going through all this again in 3 months time.

A GE is the only option really. Get rid of this DUP supported government and the likelihood increases of there being an 'NI only' backstop which would be acceptable to most MPs, allowing an agreed Brexit to take place. It is May's dependence on the DUP that has stymied this whole process.

Do the honourable thing May, call an election and resign.

May would win a GE....

Its what happens when political opportunists jump on a chance to help themselves and their mates. Hoodwink the working classes, steamroll changes based on ideals without the means to carry them out, then leave through the back door.

The whole vote stemmed from a manifesto the Tories/Cameron never thought anyone would push or even vote against. It happened and no one had an idea how to see it through. It's taken 2-3 years to sort out something that, if planned properly, would've taken twice as long and at least from a strong economical stand point.

Now, either way, the country is screwed. And that's not being over the top

Not quite true... the vote came about because it was extremely obvious to Cameron that UKIP had tapped into a huge population he wanted to reject the Lisbon treaty and what the EU has become.

You are living in fantasy land if you believe the working class were 'hoodwinked'.

Did I say that? No.

It's not rocket science....those who are the most affected by a policy are more likely to vote with that policy in mind. Maybe when Scotland and Northern Ireland become overpopulated, the issue of uncontrolled immigration will also become of an issue there.

Not true

First, we could apply the existing rules that the Government currently chooses not to. For example, EU nationals who have been unable to find a job after six months could be expelled, as they are in Belgium and several other EU countries.

There is nothing in EU law giving recent migrants without a job the right to things like housing benefit or income support. The UK could move more benefits into this category.

The UK could also reintroduce the Migration Impacts Fund, which was scrapped in 2010, by the then Home Secretary Teresa May! to channel more resources to parts of the country which have experienced high levels of immigration.

All of these things we could have done but didn’t. So don’t blame our belonging to the EU for uncontrolled immigration blame successive Tory governments for abject failure to deal with a totally manageable situation.
