Think there are lots of liberal reasons to dislike the EU and ECJ, they are by no means perfect institutions.

Problem though is that Brexit is a right wing project, ran by a right wing government, who have gleefully exposed the poorest in this country to austerity for the last 10 years. The replacement laws and standards dreamt up by the shower in charge at the moment are going to be far far worse for the working men and women of the UK.

The main reason why the case for Lexit has never made any sense to me.

That isn’t the case for Lexit though; that is about the anti-democratic structures of the EU (about which they have a point) and the way those structures are reforming Europe (about which they also have a point, especially over things like the investor dispute resolution mechanism increasingly found in trade deals).

Amidst the disaster of Brexit it should never be forgotten that the EU is in urgent need of reform if it is ever going to survive, let alone prosper - and by reform I mean that it benefits the EU and it’s citizens, not Macronism that has no other effect than making the Le Pens of this world electable.

As much as I disagree with Keir Starmer that's who Labour need , and I would vote for in the next GE if he was Leader after Brexit....... I could not vote for Corbyn.... I just wont vote in a GE while he is there.......

Joey that is because you believe too much of what you read.

In another, more sane, world being the first black female MP, going to Cambridge, getting near the top of her party and increasing her majority at most elections might be considered evidence that she is not inept as a politician.
Do you ever watch her on TV ?

The UK has yet to finalise agreements to replace existing free trade deals the EU has with 40 big economies if there is a no-deal Brexit.

Good to see Liam Fox has been doing his job. Just a reminder, when we left he said that all 40 of these deals would be replicated before we left. He better get his skates on.

What is your issue with the posted workers directive? I know that has been updated since the referendum so i’m not sure if that problem has already been solved. The Laval and Ruffert rulings are clearly complex, I can see why how they can be interpreted negatively but the detail is significant i’m sure and it’s an area i’m happy to leave to those better qualified than me like those in the ECJ who generally seem to support workers rights. Spain an Greece have suffered due to their weak economies rather than as a consequence of the EU imo. We are fortunate as things stand in terms of our economy, but we are putting that at risk with Brexit. Regarding the flagging out ships to Malta. I’m not sure what the issue is.

But thanks for the response anyway.
On my way out but as short as I can try to put the two together as best I can, it gives the company that wants the workers the right to just pay the minimum wage in the country they are in , but has ramifcations as regards going on strike and no access to collective bargaining for the contractor , if your company moved them into the UK they would only have to pay that minimum rate .
It excludes merchant navy and some other sections of workers,
. As I put in the case of the ferry service from Liverpool they are excluded from basic rights because of re flagging, Malta now has the EU biggest merchant shipping fleet
they are covered by the counties rules or lack of them in this case, think of it like a tax haven its a way of getting around things in this case getting cheap unrequlated labour .
this leaves the mostly eastern European workers on a little as 3,20 an hour and being exploited in other ways
Also means the home countries workers are not employed doing those jobs anymore, not just confined to that company by the way.
Bit quick hope it helps mate

Look up posted workers directive.
Corbyn gave a speech on it this week
The re flagging of ships to Malta and its effect on the labour market, if you from Liverpool look up the company that runs the ferry to Ireland for reference to how that works in practice.
The treatment of the working class on Greece, Spain ect
There are many reasons , but as you have said you haven't heard any there are a few
I don't like.
None on there own that maybe worth leaving over, but part of bigger picture to myself
It really wouldn't matter how many I put down as we have different views , but thought it good manners to reply as it seemed be frustrating you.
Look up the Laval and rufferd rulings from the EU courts might be spelled wrong as I am dyslexic.but Google will get you there.
As an aside my last ship has switched from a British flag to a Maltese as a result of brexit, European owners
