More Brexit-related UK job losses announced today:

'French insurer AXA said it will handle its international risk and reinsurance through an Irish unit in light of Britain's plans to leave the European Union. AXA chief executive Thomas Buberl told reporters that AXA's recently acquired XL division had already initiated the plans to move some staff to Ireland from the UK before its eventual takeover by AXA last year. "It will be mostly people taking the way UK-Ireland," he said.'

It's just Project Fear though according to some.

Great, this is all good news for the ROI. Looks like Brexit is going to work out really well for them, or maybe not......

I would think that a combination of Tories, UKIP and the sensible Labour MP’s could come together to promise to deliver Brexit and develop the opportunities it presents, to make it work. They may not gain a majority, but would spoil it for both Conservatives and Labour who wouldn’t either, and could then join a coalition government with the sole aim of making Brexit work.....
All those UKIP MP's would be backing it 100% I'm sure..

I didn't mention the jobs going to Ireland at all, yet you saw an opportunity to have another swipe at us as per usual which is standard Leaver behaviour.

It’s not a swipe at you, if it’s good news for Ireland them I’m very happy for you. I’m sure Mr Varadkar has got everything in hand and will win his next election vote comfortably. I’m sure he must believe he’s handled this really well, considering his belligerent stance to the U.K.. But we’ll see very shortly.....Personally I think he’s made as much a mess of it as May, but she will only lose her job, Varadkar might just decimate the ROI......

May really is toast.....

“A former top spook and an ex-defence chief have taken the unprecedented step of urging Tory constituency bosses to order their MP to vote against Theresa May's Brexit deal.

Former MI6 head Sir Richard Dearlove and ex-former chief of the defence staff Lord Guthrie have written to Conservative association chairs claiming the EU withdrawal agreement threatens national security.

In an explosive move which will infuriate the prime minister and her allies, delight Brexiteers and dismay Remainers, they write: "Please ensure that your MP does not vote for this bad agreement.".......

Dearlove...

Now is it particularly just these two you listen to ? Because If you want I can paste a lot quotes from various former intelligence officers and current police officers who think Brexit is a security disaster if you’d like , my guess is you’d dismiss them though .

I do agree it’s hardly helpful for may but nothing seems to be at the minute .

I agree with you on UKIP , I think you’re other point is fascinating to be honest . Who would lead it ? I know @Joey66 is labour but happily supports JRM and the like but a lot wouldn’t and I’m sure a more left-leaning pro-Brexit supporter would push away many of the right wing supporters the cause has .

New political parties are hard to organise and despite the obvious significant public support for Brexit I’m unconvinced personally that’d translate to an across the board win . I’m not even convinced a straight fight between the current political parties divided on Brexit lines would lead to that kind of result . I’m not decrying the public interest or even that there is significant support for Brexit just about how that shows in an election .
That's one of the reasons I said it will be a Tory more than likely mate .
They will have to reinvent themselves after the last two leaders, who will be forever be tarnished by brexit.
There constituties parties are mostly pro brexit and over the last few months there has been an increase in membership, not saying they are all ex UKIP but I wouldn't be surprised if most were at least sympathetic to them it wouldn't take much to swing them behind somebody who appealed /attracted the
leave voters, like a right wing momentum if you like within the Tories.
Not that I would vote for them, as I suspect many more leavers wouldn't either , but that doesn't mean people would vote against them , just fashion it ,why vote they take no notice anyway and half would have the excuse they need not to oppose the Tories were it matters in the ballot box.
Bad times for us all politically around the corner.

Like the five former heads of NATO who said Brexit was /is a terrible idea, I suspect he would much rather we stayed in altogether.

I agree That it’ll be the tory’s That take the mantle , UKIP are going to be a bnp type mess in no time . Ultimately though people like yourself are going to be looking for a home , Brexit wise , and that’s why I think it’s far from certain any Brexit centric party would be guaranteed victory. It seems @Joey66 might feel comfortable signing up to vote Tory to pursue it but for all it’s passion there are so many I can’t see taking that step . I also agree in that we think we could see the tory infighting really ramp up because it’s capable of splitting them .

This whole Brexit debate is doing damage to this country it might take decades to recover from politically , economically and socially. Whatever side you’re on the damage is really going to take it’s toll .

Good to see the dangerous inflammatory language of Brexit isn’t something that’s been seen as necessary in this thread .
