It's called having knowledge of what's happening in most boardrooms up and down the country as they prepare for a recession. They stop investing, Government's reduce spending - the economy gets smaller.

It happens every time there is an economic shock "a black Swan event", and we are right at the beginning of one of the biggest ever in the UK.

So it's not just a forecast it's based on precedent.
Well said The Esk. Living just north of the border, we are going to be hit with a double edged sword. No one will invest in Northern Ireland for the foreseeable and european funding has been our lifeblood for 30 years. Add in political instability and the spectre of another physical border and these are very concerning times indeed.

Where was the EU funding for Merseyside in the 1980's? Why was the malaise and deprivation of the 1980's attributed to Margaret Thatcher if the allocation and administration of funds was in the control of the EU?

Genuine question?

Sorry for liking your post, but it's the only way of acknowledging it.

Having a large amount of family around Enniskillen, I know from their experiences the impact European funding has had. I only hope things don't get as bad as they used to be

This was a vote far more democratic than the last general election.

The referendum had a 75% turn out with over 50% of the voters in favour of Brexit whereas the government is in power on the basis of 36.9% of the vote on a turn out of 66.1% And yet we are told Brexit is undemocratic.

Since 1945 no party has had over 50% of the vote.

As for the claims about Scotland, well for years it has to be said that no Tory Government has ever represented Sccotland or Wales.
Working together and accepting the will of the majority is what being a nation means and the Scots voted to be part of the British nation!

Incidentally 38% of Scotland voted BREXIT!. The Bremainers and Sturgeon are talking as if ALL of Scotland wants to remain in the EU.

You don't know your history.

A union of European nations with Germany at its head was what he was after all along. Oh, that's what we call the EU now...
Not exactly, Germany, and European countries in a loose federation whose only aim would have been to provide men and raw materials for the Nazi State. Hitler was always lukewarm at the idea of a European State.
