I would have respected the government more had the cabinet rejected this out of hand just on the basis they know it won't be able to pass through the house or with the DUP who are propping up the Tories.

This is just to say that May and the cabinet tried their best to get a deal in the event of a no deal. Operation cover our asses.

Indeed. Any potential PM’s don’t want to look disloyal. May will be pushed out......

I don't know if it's bad as either side are making out, seems there's some things in there that are good (EU nationals able to stay in UK, and vice versa) and a lot that are bad.

Main positive may be that there's another general election but then again I really can't be arsed for the entire country to stop again for the third time in four years just to inevitably end up with a Tory government anyway.

But y'know, we'll see.

Indeed, Toff.

I th8nk it is a splendid deal.

The EU have played May like a fiddle, played hardball right the way through knowing full well they'd do a deal with us because they need it as bad as we do.

I can't see this getting through Parliament anyway.

they have had to try and please everybody ,some decent bits as you say but an awful of fudge, i havnt seen a lot of it but the fact that we cant leave it without the EU agreeing to us leaving means it hasn't got a chance, Scottish Cons , Dup and rebels from both wings of the argument will scupper it.

It had almost no chance to begin with, and the moment she said "... or no Brexit at all" it had none.

The main thing that annoys me about the 'professional remainers' (blue tics on twitter who think they speak for the masses) is the pompousness that the EU is without fault.

It's in a mess. And they needed a deal as much as the UK like you said.

There's loads of positives to the EU. There's also a fair amount of negatives. At the time of the vote I thought the positives were outweighed by the negatives and that's why I voted out. I said it at the time and I also said a few weeks ago that maybe that was a decision I regret, but then again there's other things that make me think it was the right call.

It's been a mess to begin with from a vote that should never have gone to the public in the first place.

People will (partly rightly) blame May but the fact is that the entire government (left, right, remain or out) are the ones to blame.
