Homicides per capita actually has London as 8th worst in the country, with 12.2 per million residents. Greater Manchester is top with 19.1, with Lincolnshire next with 17.5.

Did I say the worst?
Answer: No, I didn't.

Did Bruce jump to the wrong conclusion?
Answer: Sigh, yes...

Basically May and Robbins panicked signed it when she and he flew out in the early hours in December last year - Michael Portillo predicted then it would come back to haunt her - hence now she is now trying to suppress it with some other idea - she is useless.......
maybe but she still signed it and you (plural) democratically gave her that power.

I see that EU army (which obviously isn’t happening because we were told so during the referendum) is being pushed again by France.

Independent...

“Macron has called for the creation of a “true European army” to allow the EU defend itself from threats ranging from Donald Trump to Vladimir Putin.
The French president has pushed for closer EU defence union since coming to power last year but has been so far met with limited success amid foot-dragging by other member states.

“We have to protect ourselves with respect to China, Russia and even the United States of America,” Mr Macron told France’s Europe 1 radio in an interview.

“When I see President Trump announcing that he's quitting a major disarmament treaty which was formed after the 1980s euro-missile crisis that hit Europe, who is the main victim? Europe and its security.”

The French president continued: “We will not protect the Europeans unless we decide to have a true European army.

“We need a Europe which defends itself better alone, without just depending on the United States, in a more sovereign manner.”
Mr Macron was speaking in Verdun in north-east France as part of a week-long tour of battlefields leading up to First World War armistice centenary commemorations on Sunday.

European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker said last year that "deference to Nato can no longer be used as a convenient alibi to argue against greater European efforts".
France is the strongest and most vocal proponent of an EU army but Germany has also tentatively endorsed Mr Macron's proposals for a joint command structure for military interventions.

A number of proposals have been put on the table for how EU nations could cooperate more closely on defence. The European Commission says closer defence cooperation "is not about creating an EU Army".

I particularly like the last line...is not about creating an EU Army. Typical EU, just keep denying it until it actually exists.....

I think the reality is that you believe in Brexit , wholeheartedly and that’s not a criticism. Whatever evidence people believe they have of potential problems or concerns they raise you simply completely believe in it whatever is said you and the others who fight your good fight in this thread share that mindset because that’s your belief . I’m a remain voter but I’m certainly not as wedded to it as leave voters seem to be and that’s possibly one of the factors why leave triumphed

The only comparison I can see really is religious belief in that evidence can be missing but it won’t sway the believer. If any of that comes across as criticism it’s certainly not my intention.

I wrote this yesterday and didn’t post and then have tried to edit it as I don’t want to seem like I’m having a go at Brexiteers, I’m not and I’ve tried not to do that in this thread and I’m not calling you fanatics just that you’re all in on Brexit . It’s like if a host of experts came out now and said we’ve looked at the Brexit deal and we think it’ll actually be great for the economy, as a remain voter I’d think “well ok that’s good news “ I really would because firstly I like to think of myself as pragmatic and ultimately I just want the best for us and secondly as I’ve said I don’t feel I’m as wedded to my position as Brexiteers. If the same happens it’s dismissed immediately by a large proportion of leavers because the vote is that important, again as I’ve said I think that’s probably a big factor as why you won .

I read an article the other day, can’t remember where, and it said the exact opposite. That Remainers follow Brussels just like a cult...... everyone voted for their own reasons.....

let them have one most of the counties wanting to join the EU are next to Russia, if they want to keep prodding putin they will need a decent army. where is the money coming from to pay for it might be the problem for those that want one.

I read an article the other day, can’t remember where, and it said the exact opposite. That Remainers follow Brussels just like a cult...... everyone voted for their own reasons.....

If you take this thread as an example though , I think the majority or at least a fair proportion of the remainers would like me say it was good news and perhaps reconsider their position if experts said that leaving would massively boost our economy. Yourself for example and the others simply wouldn’t , again not a criticism but it’s a fact isn’t it ?

The difference I see is that you can disagree or dismiss the experts or those saying the impact it’ll have because of what they steal from or who they are but their are plenty of them but like religion you believe wholeheartedly in your position.
