I hope that May, remembers this...

“Just before the United Kingdom left the Exchange Rate Mechanism in September 1992, the then Prime Minister, Sir John Major, told the Scottish CBI that such a policy “would be a betrayal of our future at this moment, and I tell you categorically that is not the Government’s policy”. This was applauded by his audience but a mere six days later in a humiliation that has never left him, the so-called betrayal of the nation’s future took place.”

And then we were able to sort out the economy......

About as relevant to the current issues as the colour of Mrs R's kaks, with respect.

Typical what a great organisation we are leaving .......the sooner the better..... get a deal done cheaper in the long run.....
There was a Finnish guy on TV this week think he is taking over of the big positions for the EU, he said they had stopped Italy doing that with the budget, either he has jumped the gun or something has pushed the Italians to go ahead.
If they go ahead it will cause murder.

We had 13 years of Labour overspending.....

So you don't approve of governments spending beyond their means when it suits your beloved Tories, but you approve of governments spending beyond their means when it suits your hatred of the EU? At least you're consistent Pete and not flip flopping depending on which ideology it suits at a particular moment.

Sorry Bruce, poorly worded. My comment regards Italy and Greece was not about finance, but immigration. Both countries screwed by the actions of the German Leader and the EU....
