Can anyone really imagine Trump keeping an advanced trade deal with the UK a secret?
I honestly think there's a lot that goes on about he has no idea about. He had nothing to do with the whole renegotiation of NAFTA, probably knows very little about the tariff war, the likes of Wilbur Ross keeps him in the dark till he really needs to know.

...seems increasingly apparent to me that a negotiated deal will not get through the Commons which means the ‘no deal’ conclusion the Brexiteers want.
Yep, the DUP were talking up a 'no deal' today also and May has again re-iterated that she will not budge on the border issue despite giving a written commitment on the backstop last December. They may as well pack in the negotiations now because everyone can see they are a waste of time. And as you say a negotiated deal is not going to get through Parliament anyway so the whole thing is farce.

For the life of me I cannot understand how, even if a fellow wanted Brexit, he would prefer we left with “no deal” rsther than an amicable split.

I posted the other day and nowt since has made me even think twice about it.

This DUP posturing and intransigence is being encouraged and directed by the Tory right.....Johnson, Rees Mogg et al.

Foster and her merry men ( and woman) are providing cover for those fortunate enough not to have to worry about any negative financial implications which might arise from Brexit, be it “hard” or “soft”, people whom are happy enough to lead the country over the precipice and into the unknown.

Because it won’t affect their finances.

Yup their estates are well stocked with pheasants and wild boar. Meanwhile inner city types will be scrapping in the Aldi for a few tins of corned beef.

..but my understanding (listening to this afternoons debate) is that even a ‘no deal’ has to have the approval of Parliament. Not sure where this would ultimately go if no option is endorsed - general election, people’s vote.

Its a pickle. Like, Parliament wont approve a No Deal, (not 100% sure the HOC has a voteon one anyrate) and as the whole issue isnt really a party political one, not sure what a GE would actually achieve.

And if we have nothing on the table come March 29th, what happens? Can the whole thing be postponed, or do we still leave, with no deal, that wasnt voted for by the HOC?

Or maybe Corbyn will think outside the box, put the country first and vote May’s proposal through.

....I think this was asked during the debate and she responded by saying they were hopeful of getting a settlement agreed. My thought was that if there wasn’t approval for a negotiated deal, we would be stuck with a no deal but the PM indicated this would have to be voted on too.

As you say it’s a mess.

Cameron really wants horsewhipped for unleashing this mayhem on the country then just walking away from it and leaving us in seemingly perpetual political chaos ever since.

Apparently there is to be no Queen’s Speech this year as the government has absolutely nothing else to be getting on with but sorting out this totally unnecessary mess.

Imagine that.....the UK government with no policies to implement.

But what would be the point of a vote on a no deal, if we leave on the 29th March anyrate?

HOC votes against a No Deal, 30th March we are out. Biggest "So What" in political history. Unless the whole thing can be put on hold?
