I maintain The EU needed to reform. Cameron tried the reforms, failed. Their arrogance/stubbornness played a huge part in Brexit and what we're now seeing in Italy etc.

You're absolutely off your trolley if you don't think the EU is struggling.

I just want them to pay my invoice ffs. Seriously though, I think liberal democracy is struggling at the moment, which I'm very sad about.

Too much idealism over pragmatism.

And tone deaf fools like Juncker and Verhofstadt.

If the sky doesn't fall over Britain after Brexit, Italy and others will follow - unless there is reform.

A shame, as some very basic reform on migration, and benefits in particular would have swung Brexit towards remain. I'm convinced.

The headlines after Camerons reforms wern't good enough as the referendum was announced.

I wouldn't worry too much about Italy. They've had shambolic governments since Caesar's time. Looping back to my previous point though, we had power over allowing A8 migrants in (we waived it). We have power over whether migrants can claim benefits (we waive it). We have power over whether migrants not in work when they arrive can be removed (we waive it). We have access to funds to help communities with large changes in their population due to migration (we ignore it).

If anyone needs reforming, it's the UK government. They need to accept responsibility rather than passing the buck onto the EU all the time.

it's all this having to pick a side, you're either with us or against us, black & white moral-thinking malarkey...Bush Jr started it after 9/11 but for some reason the dominant progressivism within liberal democracy media thought that was a great idea.
