God knows what will happen next .
The EU haven't given her any wiggle room, and might have made a mistake of over playing there hand.
Could backfire badly if she spins it ,well we tried but?
The Tories will get slaughted in an election if the gave in any more as people will feel betrayed.
Labour can make hay by saying look they made a mess of Brexit and let the people down when it came to it.
Couldn't call it myself which way it would go, as May has a habit of muddling through to the next disaster episode and surviving like a real life Jonny English

She does appear to be a survivor. If she caves in she’s toast. The EU do not appear to care one way or the other, so she has nothing to lose by just walking away. She can fly the flag and her party will rally behind her, and a majority of the population will support her. Corbyn will try to make mischief then shoot himself in the foot with some anti-Semitic comment.......

Interesting to watch the civil war meltdown in the Tory party over Brexit. During election times the Tories can always rely on the IoD, CBI, Engineering federation, the Motor Industry, the City of London to offer tacit support for the Tories because they are 'better for business'. Now they are making it absolutely clear that Brexit is not good for business, the opposite of their usual Tory stance. They want to stay in the single market, customs union, free movement of labour and services. In other words, don't leave the EU. Which poses the democratic conundrum. Leave and uphold the democratic vote with the economic consequences or ignore the leave vote and stay in the EU. Whichever way wins out will have repercussions for politics in the UK.

Corbyn should just sit there knitting on the front bench waiting for her head to roll, point at her and say the state of that , every now and again ,
While waiting for the bloodbath that is sure to follow.
In reality , he will more than likely do quite well, till Abbot or one of the posse around him open there mouth and turn attention back on the labour party instead of the way the country is being run .

Unsurprisingly it appears today that the DUP will be very happy with a no deal Brexit as it would strengthen the union between GB and NI and worsen Anglo-Irish relations. Given that they are propping up May's government and that she is clinging to power, a no deal Brexit now looks the most likely scenario.

Unless of course she was to resign and call an election which might just be a way out of this mess. Then again pigs might fly.

Churchill wasn't a fan of the appeasement, Eden the same to name but a few more. There was a call to build up our armed forces long before the war.

Interesting to read the disagreements amongst the establishment In the 1930s about whether to support Hitler or not. Many UK and US banks provided finance until 1940/41. For some in the UK establishment, and the German for that matter, saw Hitler as the bulwark against communism for others he was trying to take over UK markets. Many saw it in trade war terms. It appears me that the tensions in the establishment are reminiscent of the 1930s trade war scenario.

It is something that you just can't call at the moment. Although it seems obvious that she should resign or be challenged, I'm sure the conservatives would like her to stay until she delivers a no deal brexit at which point she will be thrown out for mishandling the whole saga so a new shiny candidate can come in to rescue the country (& try and win an election). All safe in the knowledge we are out of the EU and nothing can be done about it apart from make the best of it.

They can't self destruct as that will lead to another GE so they are squirming all over the place but can't do much about it.

Nations are not democracies if they refuse to accept the result of a vote......

The result of a vote that ended up the way it did, with many unsure voters being swayed due to the leave campaigns cheating and lies. Many have come out since and said they realise now that they were lied to and they want to right that wrong.

The vote was wrongly put to the public who didn't know nearly enough, and for that Cameron, has left behind a terrible legacy. Leave won, and that has to be acknowledged, but the way in which they won loses them any sort of leg to stand on when demanding that the vote be pushed through at all costs.

A people's vote on the final deal is the fairest solution in my opinion. It acknowledges that leave got the majority vote, but since the victory came through insincere means, a 2nd chance needs to be given to the people. Particularly when those in the leave camp can't seem to agree on what it is they want.
