At what cost?

There will no doubt be a short term cost, to both the U.K. and the EU, because of the stupid way the bureaucracy in Brussels is behaving. But, then we will trade sensibly either through a deal or via WTO, either will be fine, then we will increase our exports via FTA’s for which countries will be only too happy to accommodate........

Who, Leo ? He is doing a pretty decent job actually of ensuring that the EU do not default on their committment to protect Irish interests as a constituent member state, not one which is crying off for its own selfish interests. In any event, changing the leader of the government would make no difference. Everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet as far as Brexit is concerned.

Well stop moaning then, you are obviously happy with how it’s all going......

We were supposed to have a few dozen trade deals signed by now Pete, given the huge interest countries would have. What's happened to that?

It’s not weak at all, he is the German head of a company. He is the CEO. He has come out with his statements. I have already said that I would fire him because he is using Brexit as cover for bad product planning, nothing else. I will put money on the fact that more German companies or German heads of companies do similar. They know that German exports to the U.K. will take a hammering in a no deal WTO Brexit, they also know that their esteemed leader is not listening to them.......
So you think the german CEO of LandRover is using brexit as an excuse for poor planning as well as fears that german car sales (which have nothing to do with TATA) will take a hammering in a no deal Brexit?
You think the fact that he's German is leading him to use Brexit as a red herring as he intentionally drives JLR in to the ground, maybe to make a point or something?
I've no idea what you're on about.

Weak mate. Pretty sure he will do what the Indian owners want, not the Germans.
The levels they’re now dredging is beyond belief. The CEO being German makes him an EU patsy by default and they can therefore completely disregard his evidence based opinion. It’s utterly pathetic.

Who will bare that "short term cost"?

Imho if you count 8 to 12 years short term then you might be about there.

The EU have to make us an example of so any country that even thinks of leaving in future will know just what the price is in doing so. How hard we are hit and how soon it bites will determine how quickly a deal can come about.

Well there's no guarantee that my wife will be permitted to stay for starters, but we're also considering quality of life. I suspect if we lived anywhere but London we'd have made the choice before now.

You are really missing out on quality of life living in London anyway......

Of course he’s using Brexit as an excuse for poor product planning and I agree, you have no idea.....
