A lot of it is, no doubt. Like most Remainers, I am not some flag waving supporter of the EU, it can be a pain and is often a frustrating body.

Just on balance, reckon we are better off in, with a voice, than out, without one.
That's the thing tho, I don't think there are flag waving supporters of the EU (excluding people protesting Brexit).
No one sees it as a new identity to replace your national identity. I lived in Germany and traveled all over Europe and I never saw EU nationalism. In fact the only time I can remember seeing it is for the Ryder cup!
Yea, Europe is a bureaucratic mess, as is to be expected with 28 member states and god knows how many official languages. It only gets more complicated when it tries to accommodate all the wishes of the member states. But it's better to work together.
No one from the leave side has ever convinced me that there's more to this than nationalism. And to be honest, that's fine, just own it. Don't come out with 'we need to control our borders' one day and then switch to 'we should just leave the border open' the next.

The reply was tongue in cheek dude.

I was in no way instigating an internet warrior battle to the death....
Well I guess higher interest rates will be nice for generally older people who have a few bob in savings, and no mortgage.

Not quite so great for the younger generation with a mortgage mind.

Quelle le change. Or sommet.
Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose!

Its laughable that for some, it is.

Personally I am looking forward to making all our own rules, all that have to be read and voted on in the democratic House of Lords.
I’m counting the days down until I can buy a vacuum cleaner that is so powerful it’ll literally suck up my entire living room.

It'd be nice if you had some Project Glee though Joe. You know, something that would actually help the lives of those who voted to leave? Something that could address the issues that underpinned their vote? This has been asked for several times and there has been nothing.
I notice the EU are now saying the will be a deal - scared of a new leader pulling the plug on 39 billion euros.........

You lot have said they’ve been deliberately bullying poor old Blighty not long back and didn’t want a deal as we were trying hard and they weren’t.......apparently. Now they’re frightened of losing Blighty’s cash....apparently.

You flip flop more than Rees Mogg and his band of swivel eyed loons on ‘taking back control of our borders’.

I don't really post in this thread, mainly because the votes were cast and the outcome decided, what I don't get is this denial of all the projected forecasts of what could very well happen, everytime a problem that could arise is pointed out,the only comeback is "Project fear" some one who voted to leave explain why there is no counter to it other than WTO ,explain to me what we will have taken back by leaving
How can you counter something that hasnt happened yet Jaycee, none of us know what deal is going to be in place if there will be one, what steps the government have made behind the scenes (not that I would hold my breath on that) it's all conjecture from both sides, till we get there , it's like booking a coach trip to the seaside a month before you go, if you wake up.and the sun is out its all good, but if it's pissing down you wonder what you botherd for.
I think we are being lined up for a deal that will please nobody, and half the stuff coming out now is ,a prelude to them saying well we had to sign this or all.this would happen.
We are all getting played on both sides at the moment to suit the government in office rather than the peoples needs, I voted out but have never thought for a moment those that didn't shouldn't have there views listened to as well, it's there lives and country as much as mine, but it has been handled terribly since day one by all concerned.

Maybe a plan before everything foes tits up,screaming "Project fear" doesnt help either side, like I said the votes over with, and I cant see anything gained by either side, you can compare it to a holiday, yeah the weather might be crap, but if you book Bermuda rather than Bridlington chances are you will get the sunshine

They cry project fear because it's a re run of what was supposed to happen if we voted out, it didn't happen so why should they get wound up by the same people saying the same stuff again .
Anyway it's nearly over soon so we will all know what the future holds then

You keep playing with your powerful hoovers .......
Be careful if it's not to EU standards......

We haven't even left yet. And the pound did plummet like it had been predicted. It's not going to end up well whether we have watered down membership (a deal) or leave completely. I don't think anyone who voted leave has provided a scenario where we'd be better off. It's clear that any trade deals will take an age to complete, and the ones we eventually get (after years of negotiations) won't be as good as the common market and the deals we have through the EU. It's complete madness. Just watch as these multi millionaire tossers in the ERG reap the rewards.

Labour are playing a really dangerous game.

Chequers was the softest Brexit the Tories were willing to give. If the government doesn't collapse, then we're probably going to drop off the cliff edge.

Chequers is just a starting point - it's a crack handed way of having one foot in and one foot out of the EU - at a price - the parties don't like it - nor to the EU - no other proposals have been set out by any one else - it will morth into something that May cannot survive in April either a GE or a leadership challenge or both?

If May fails in her proposal, she goes, the Tory party as it looks at the moment gets sabotaged by its own far right. More than enough centre right Tory MPs to force no confidence which will break the fixed parliament and then general election, whatever comes now with EU will break the Conservatives.:)

Meanwhile......

“Tony Blair, John Major and Nick Clegg have been travelling around Europe to persuade the continent's leaders to put a stop to Brexit, it has emerged.
The former party leaders - one from each of the UK's three largest parties - have met heads of government and senior ministers from Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands in recent weeks.
They have reportedly sought to persuade EU leaders that 'the atmosphere has changed' since the 2016 referendum and that Britain needed to postpone its departure to allow more time for negotiations and a possible second vote.”

I would stand them up against a wall and have them shot personally.......where do these ex politicians get the idea that we want them to still boss us around, or that their views have any more validity than the 17.4 Million who voted to leave.....
