That's the thing tho, I don't think there are flag waving supporters of the EU (excluding people protesting Brexit).A lot of it is, no doubt. Like most Remainers, I am not some flag waving supporter of the EU, it can be a pain and is often a frustrating body.
Just on balance, reckon we are better off in, with a voice, than out, without one.
No one sees it as a new identity to replace your national identity. I lived in Germany and traveled all over Europe and I never saw EU nationalism. In fact the only time I can remember seeing it is for the Ryder cup!
Yea, Europe is a bureaucratic mess, as is to be expected with 28 member states and god knows how many official languages. It only gets more complicated when it tries to accommodate all the wishes of the member states. But it's better to work together.
No one from the leave side has ever convinced me that there's more to this than nationalism. And to be honest, that's fine, just own it. Don't come out with 'we need to control our borders' one day and then switch to 'we should just leave the border open' the next.
