You are standing on the side of a motorway. You tell a man next to you of your plan to run blindfolded towards the central reservation. This man tells you it is a bad idea. You scoff at his so called ‘bad idea’ as if he’s an expert, cos he hasn’t done it before. You laugh at him and pelt it towards the centre. You are unceremoniously crushed by a truck and are dead.

That is Brexit.

The Tories have torn themselves apart over Europe whenever they are in government from Thatcher Major Cameron and now May, it's them that promised a referendum, it's them that held a referendum, it's them tearing themselves apart over how we exit. The electorate needs to take responsibility, Cameron won a clear majority on a EU referendum manifesto pledge.

Any opposition would never find themselves in this situation this current government has put us in, factor in oppositions are not part of official negotiations, so can only respond to what they are told, Tory Government owns this.

Despite my (obvious) loyalties to the Labour Party, I do believe that they've done a huge disservice in not making the absolute shambles that are the Tory-led "negotiations" front and center of its messaging.

I've been told on good merit that Labour Party conference will debate the "People's Vote", which may shift the conversation a bit. Regardless of whether you voted to leave or remain in the EU, we can all agree that the government have dealt with this horrendously.

shame we can't just have a referendum on lowering house prices 33% by simple administrative fiat, rather than by leaving the EU ; )

According to the chancellor Gideon. Osborne they were supposed to drop 18 percent the day after the people voted Out....
This is May using project fear to get her crappy chequers plan through ........
There's a long road ahead - she may fall after March......when we are officially out.......

I don't really post in this thread, mainly because the votes were cast and the outcome decided, what I don't get is this denial of all the projected forecasts of what could very well happen, everytime a problem that could arise is pointed out,the only comeback is "Project fear" some one who voted to leave explain why there is no counter to it other than WTO ,explain to me what we will have taken back by leaving

I heard a clip , only a clip , of Farage from
His show talking to a caller on an LBC promo . The caller accused him and others of being less than honest and dismissing the warnings , having told us it’d be milk and honey and Farage saud “all I ever said was we’d be free” .

The dismissing or ignoring of repercussions goes all the way to the top or maybe the bottom in Nigel’s case .

It'd be nice if you had some Project Glee though Joe. You know, something that would actually help the lives of those who voted to leave? Something that could address the issues that underpinned their vote? This has been asked for several times and there has been nothing.

Well I guess higher interest rates will be nice for generally older people who have a few bob in savings, and no mortgage.

Not quite so great for the younger generation with a mortgage mind.

Quelle le change. Or sommet.

Its laughable that for some, it is.

Personally I am looking forward to making all our own rules, all that have to be read and voted on in the democratic House of Lords.
ha, and even when they pass the democratic house of lords, they'll pretty much be carbon copies of European law in order to trade in the European market.
It's simple. It's all about nationalism.

A lot of it is, no doubt. Like most Remainers, I am not some flag waving supporter of the EU, it can be a pain and is often a frustrating body.

Just on balance, reckon we are better off in, with a voice, than out, without one.
