Other countries outside the EU trade with them without the four freedoms bruce - yes I do want a good deal obviously there will be have to give and take but atm alls I see is the EU taking.........
I have to agree our negotiations have been poor as the UK leader is not up to it..........
Do you actually understand that we have been offered a free trade deal akin to that of Canada?

It's the four freedoms that make it so beneficial!

The people decided -democrocy that's the principle if Remain had won by one vote this thread would not be going .......

Because if remain had won there would not be discussions over a deal to what brexit looks like. Pretty obvious isn't it. The politicians have failed to put in place a complete plan, still no news on what will happen with Ireland, how much we will continue to pay the EU (with nothing much in return this time) what trading terms we will be given. Their lack of progress is what makes normal people want to make sure we are not blindingly pushed off the edge of a cliff.

If we do a deal where we have to pay a 50 billion divorce settlement, we could end up with 400 million going out a month to the EU over the next 10 years, so for the generation where most people voted for this could see their end of life care actually go down because of this. Immigration doesn't look like it would be any different in or out. Don't you want to know the facts before saying yes? Or you happy leaving it to the politicians to run with this? I wouldn't trust them to run a bath never mind something as large as this.

It may turn out that they are able to get a reasonable settlement and trade deals (maybe not free but say a % or so) and come to a workable situation over Ireland that then won't cost millions over the next few years from the point of view of policing it or the break up of N.Ireland from the UK. If so great, but I can't understand what is wrong with verifying that it is what the public want before pressing the eject button. All along you and Pete have mentioned that the EU will fold first to enable a decent deal, well they still haven't and we are a little over 6 months away from god knows what. Madness to think some people are happy with any deal just to get away from 2 or 3 things that could have been handled better within the EU, for example we could have had an immigration policy similar to Belgium.

Ok Corbyn wins the next GE - 2 years in the country is doing more badly like when we voted Brexit by the way the skies as predicted have not fallen in......would you be happy if there was a campaign to have another GE as certain big organisations did not like it or his policies?........

1. We have yet to leave.
2. I'd expect any future Labour government to do away with the fixed parliament act. If things go belly up, then I would be one of the first to call for a general election.

The leave vote won because people are idiots. That is only compounded by their firm belief that they're well informed.

Bit harsh mate. I look at it more 'stuck in their ways'. They still wish Cliff Richard was playing on the radio, 3 day working weeks due to the power shortages, lots of holidays due to strikes and Britain producing the best cars around like erm...Metros...

I disagree with you, a lot of people voted to leave because the status quo was no longer bearable.

... and were repeatedly lied to, that it was the EU that was the prime cause of their woes.

Does it make them idiots to believe the lies? I don't know - but it does reflect their (understandable) desperation.

Austerity biting, blame the EU and foreigners, that was it in a nutshell.

It was the perfect storm for the back bench swivel eyed loons that have been bleating about Europe for 30 years. Cameron gifted them a window of opportunity and they played a blinder with populist crap, meaningless soundbites, zero detail all wrapped up in a Union Jack.
