I am not seeking to apportion blame, although I do believe that the Remainers campaign has undermined the UK’s negotiating position. Businesses are not just sitting around twiddling thumbs until we get to the new year. Most businesses will already have their plans in place. This is not naivety nor idiotic, just based on experience.

I’d really love to know what business experience you have that leads you think that bussiness’ themselves will be able to solve the issues in ‘just in time’ supply chains, if we move to basic WTO tariffs, with the increased customs checks and time that this would involve?

Well exactly. Does anyone know how many extra Customs officers are being recruited to staff these new borders, given that they will have to be in place in less than a year?

All the remain protesters high up just happen to be the filthy rich,,,,,,.........

I was brought up in a council house in the poorest part of western Europe, and had boiled potatoes and red sauce for dinner last night, and am currently selling all of my stuff to pay rent as I've had to spend my last £200 contributing to a funeral.

Hardly the elite.

project fear so they will not set up deals for the 6th biggest economy I doubt it
you can google all you want money deals talk...
oh and we will be 40 billion better off as we won't pay the divorce bill......

I’m sure they will do a deal. I was correcting your lie that this happens quickly. The WTO’s own economist has said 6 years.

More than enough thank you. Customs checks are done in a myriad of ways, mostly at the point of despatch and not by some hairy officer smoking a fag at a customs point with a gate barring access. Also this JIT nonsense means what exactly. All supply chains have differing order/lead times for different components, so if new customs arrangements add a day to the supply, then the order will just be placed accordingly so that the component arrives just in time......perishable foodstuffs etc will no doubt provide a different challenge, I would think with available solutions, but I’m afraid that’s not my field......
