Well you thought wrong.....

But the Leave campaign specifically mentioned Switzerland, as did many of the prominent leave protagonists.

So I didn’t ‘think wrong’ at all....as it was never sold to the electorate as a definite outcome of a leave vote.

It’s been subsequently adopted as an assumed ‘red line’, only Leave meant different things to different people, as the messages throughout the campaign were a jumbled mess.

It’s a simple fact that the Yes / No advisory referendum did not bring with it a promise of leaving either the SM or the CU..........as even if they had promised it (which they didn’t) Leave were in no position to make promises...remember.

You’ve still not answered my question, if I wanted the Swiss model that so many mentioned which way should I have voted?

What is ‘our model’ btw who defined what ‘our model’ was in the campaigns? Why did both sides consistently refer to both Norway and Switzerland then?

The bottom line is ‘our model’ didn’t and largely still doesn’t exist ffs! Leave was a vote for a leap of faith, it was never defined. What hacks me off, is that it’s been decided by hardline Brexiteers that somehow the vote included all exclusion of the CU and SM, which is yet another falsehood.

Tbf, Remain also said that it didn’t mean full political union or military union, but that’s where it’s going. The various options and scenarios are myriad, and no doubt many people voted in their minds for something that is not necessarily the same as someone else who voted the same way. But I find it a bit disingenuous that it’s only the Remainers who challenge what the Leavers voted for, whereas there aren’t many Leavers jumping up and down saying ‘I didn’t vote for that’, unless of course you can show otherwise......

The Tory party voted both Remain and Leave. Point to one person either on here or in the Tory party who voted Leave and now says ‘I didn’t vote for that’.......

Well thats cos we still dont know what the final deal will look like. So Leavers cant actually moan or celebrate anything.

But I will happily bet an internet £ that when/if (?) a deal is done, there will be plenty of Leavers fuming. Maybe even you.

He knows that there will not be a deal but is in total denial...Brexit means getting rid of all the foreign people ? Most voted on that premise....

Again, you are telling Leave voters this and that. Remainers continually tell the world that Leavers, a) didnt know what they voted for or b) they didn’t vote for that. Now simple question, how many Leavers on here have said either they didn’t know what they voted for or they didn’t vote for that. Now how many other Leavers in the U.K. have said the same. The answer, is none, no Leave voter has said either, only Remainers ever make this claim.....

Think thats a bit binary, if I am honest. Sure, some deffo did, but unless I am mistaken @peteblue was more concerned with the creeping political union that has occurred over several decades. I do have some sympathy with that tbh, but on balance, reckoned trade and that was more important than some daft rules.

So, whatever deal the UK Government strike with the EU, you will be fine with? Cos thats all I am saying might be an issue with some. Obviously, every Leaver on here knows what that final deal will look like, apparently.

If a deal consists of us remaining within or under control of the EU I will not be happy. We voted to leave the EU.......

Well that was the point I was making Pete. We do not know what leaving will actually mean. Ergo, why Remainers can moan cos we are leaving, and Leavers cant really say or celebrate cos we have not got a clue what the deal will look like.

I would hazard a guess that your reasons for leaving are a world away from a sterotyped bone head from Blackburn. For example.

Perhaps, but as I pointed out earlier, I would bet that not all Remainers voted the way they did for the same reason.......
