Perhaps you should ask why before dismissing comments. For my part I’m trying to understand why you wrote what you did, perhaps you could explain why you did so.......
I’m not saying you’re nuts, just the idea that there’ll be one European army in the next 5 years and that Europe will tear its self apart with germant and France fighting for control of the single army.
Mind you if, 5 years ago, you told me the U.K. would leave the common market with no plan for how to leave or proceed, I would have called that nuts too.
I put it all down to the naivety of youth......

Touché........

I see David Miliband is now going to save us from Brexit. He has apparently said that we shouldn’t leave the ‘safe habour’ of the EU, and this is probably the best description of why remainers voted as they did, a ‘safe habour’, not the terrifying seas of the world. What a gutless, chinless, waste of space he really is.......

I've stayed off here for awhile as it was doing my nut in.

But anyway.

I was part of a large Labour contingent that went to Dudley for the local council elections and I spoke to quite a few leave voters - who in fairness to them - were as candid as anyone would have hoped for.

The simple fact of the matter is that sitting there and banging on about the economy is going to do nothing to win the hearts and minds of the people that voted leave. Since 2010 these people have been told that the economy is in the "best shape it has been for a generation" whilst their wages and living standards have nose-dived.

There's a disconnect between the day-to-day realities of these people, and those have to be dealt with first. I work on clinical outcomes, and Brexit is akin to a bloody cough ~ yes it sucks, and things are going to get stained, but the underlying cause is the real problem here. Failure to deal with that first will lead to far worse.

We're probably going to leave, so for me there's bigger battles to be won elsewhere.

I actually don't think we will leave now. Parliament won't vote for something that is shown by everyone to be damaging. It can't jump into the abyss with out a plan. I think we'll end up in a transition period that's extended sufficiently to the next election.

I see one of our esteemed University professors who claimed that the U.K. universities would fall from 2nd to 20th in the league tables because of Brexit, has now had to admit in front of MP’s that he just plucked the number out of the air and had absolutely no evidence to back it up. These people will say anything to keep the country chained to the EU.......

I’ve not read that but it wouldn’t astound me but I’m sure you’ll accept that both sides are completely guilty of the same action as regards to that ?

I think from a purely statistical point of view the remain camp have more evidence in support of their argument but Brexiteers like to go with their gut a bit more and that’s also a matter of choice but also has an element of risk .
