I love the way the Irish Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, thinks he has a veto over the whole thing. He still hasn’t twigged that the EU will throw him under the bus when it’s suits them, and that the biggest losers here will be the ROI if no deal is done.....

Jüncker wants Belgium to give the British EU officials Belgian citizenship, since quite a bit don't meet the requirements. Would be quite unfair from a legal point of view, conflicting case law. It's also unfair for normal people (that don't work the EU) who live here and don't meet the requirements.

It's also unfair for Belgians who want to work for the EU. EU recruitment aims to be representative (not always possible off course), so if you count those EU officials as Belgians you're effectually taking away employment opportunities for Belgians who want to work for the EU. This could be solved quite easily off course by making them a special group that doesn't account for the Belgian number.
