But to be fair Joey you didn’t know what you were voting for and/or are getting on in years, besides being a racist......
Yes I got called a racist on another thread ???
The poster was banned
Not a racist bone in my body,
The first time in my life I voted to leave people forget it never went to the vote when we first joined only twice after that we had referendums only on a trade deals- not a polictical union!
So Out won woundent think so as the bullies of the EU try to dictate terms trying to make the UK fail in future!
It's an institution, tell me who wants to live in a ruddy institution lol

It’s a corrupt institution at that.........

You said it, you voted for that to be a possibility.

It’s a corrupt institution at that.........

It aint great, I fully agree. But the balance of free trade against the irritants the EU does come out with was why I wanted to stay. Or rather, would have preferred to stay

And that’s fair enough Roydo, we all want to trade and it will also dawn on the individual EU countries that it is important for them that trade is continued. The institution of the EU however, and its continuous and remorseless aim of becoming a single political union of the United States of Europe, really is not worth having just to trade. The world has moved on from the 1970’s when trade barriers were the norm, countries do far more trade with ever reducing barriers. We no longer need to be a member and indeed our participation will just undermine growth within a shrinking market......

Might, maybe.

Reckon we will, obvs, just not sure trusting to the judgement of the Boris and Farage brigade filled me with much faith that it was going to be so splendid. Shame too many did fall for it.

I still believe that Remain voters do not or will not understand why people voted to Leave. I keep seeing reports that it was mostly older people who voted to leave, older people tend not to be quite as gullible as those with less experience of life....

Other than some utter wronguns, I am sure most voted for reasons they were happy with. I can get the angst you have with the drift the EU has done, I get the immigration issues in certain parts of the country, I get the steryotype retired General fuming and writing letters to the Telegraph.

Equally, I reckon a big number of remainers voted why I did. Its a pain, but on balance, its ok so why bother risking it for the unknown; an unknown in which the likes of Farage would lead you to believe will be the sunny uplands. I didnt buy it, but a lot did.

10 billion per year is not FREE!
Then to be externally governed by them is not Policticalcally acceptable either!

Might as well ask, when the services sector goes and we lost a sizable chunk of our tax-base how can we go about paying for the NHS and social care?

I'm a radical socialist and even I understand the realities of how a substantial loss of tax could put our nationally ran services into disrepute.

Free trade means more than the contribution we make to the EU Joe. And even if your £10B figure is right, the value to the GDP said free trade agreement contributes dwarfs it.

But thats now at risk. And as for being governed by "them", we do have tons of MEPs to vote on stuff, and a veto on stuff we dont like.

Or at least we have for a year or 2. But then we can make our own rules. (as long as the EU like them probably).

That’s the point though, very few bought into what Farage was saying, he just helped to give us the opportunity to vote. Most leave voters were not voting for sunny uplands, indeed most of those I spoke to, and myself, believed that things would get worse before we could start to improve but we were willing to take a hit to get out of the EU. If anything, leave voters actually voted in the full understanding that life might get a bit worse, but that ultimately we would become free again and decide our own future.......

And yet you are a radical socialist who’s policies would completely undermine tax generation........

Will our GDP not grow trading worldwide the EU relies on us more than we rely on them trade wise now!
They also mess our deals up worldwide by imposing tarrifs - 10 billion is too much to pay 2nd highest contributions the UK!
