And where did I question the validity of the vote? I simply pointed out that fewer than three-quarters of the electorate bothered to get off their backsides and vote. This is a) not a 'massive' turnout or b) even close to the 'largest turn out for any vote of any kind in this country's history', which you claimed.
Seems you Little Quitlers love to put words in others' mouths and resort to whataboutery to suit your agenda!
That's a good point - but I don't think most non-voters are actively abstaining. Here in Australia you must vote in every election or you face a large fine. If you want to turn up to the polling station and spoil your vote or opt for 'none of the above' that's ok, but you have to make the effort to get there in the first place. I suspect a large portion of the UK electorate don't vote b/c they simply CBA, they'd rather stay in the pub or watch Jeremy Kyle instead. What has not been mentioned in the voting scenario in the discussion in the last couple of pages is the word 'abstention'.
It is a fundamental principle of voting that it falls in three ways: for; against, and abstention.
Those that did not vote, having been given the opportunity, fall into the category of 'abstention'. It is equally as valid as the other two categories, and it is a false premise to try to build a case against the result of the vote by bringing into play those who did not vote (the abstainers).
Experts can’t be trusted, polls are a joke & people who don’t turn up to polls are equally as valid as those who vote.
Getting a bit silly all this really isn’t it.

Why don't you just sod off with your constant sniping at me, eh...?
Get a life and post some common sense for a change!
I wonder how many seats abstentions will get at the next general though.
Can’t wait to see their manifesto.
"Quilters"? Much like Remoners it's yet another pethetic, name calling game which simplely devalues any point you might have. What agenda do you mean BTW?And where did I question the validity of the vote? I simply pointed out that fewer than three-quarters of the electorate bothered to get off their backsides and vote. My use of the phrase ‘Little Quitlers’ was in direct response to Joey’s equally childish ‘Remoaners’ comment. You are completely right of course that the use of such pejorative language simply detracts from one’s argument."Quilters"? You don't have a clue why some didn't vote don't you? Not the faintest idea and neither do I. Maybe it was down to the fact that they "couldn't be bothered to get off their backsides to vote" as you claim or maybe it was any number of reasons that you and I are completly clueless about. Perhaps a lot of people had more important issues in their lives then the Referndum, it is possible you know? Maybe they were just pig ignorant such as the massive numbers of young people who didn't vote but then spent the next few days and weeks following the Referndum crying about having "their future stolen". You are correct and I was wrong regarding turnouts, no agenda. Just a simple mistake, not everyone has an agenda or is so arrogant that they can't admit when they make a mistake.
I agree that anyone who voted leave based on xenophobia is ignorant. I would point out however that having concerns about immigration does not automatically mean said person is Xenophobic. I however have not met a single person who voted based on xenophobia or anything similar. Oh I've no doubt there is a fair number of them, just as the the fools who voted to remain based on getting social media koodos are around in bigger numbers then we'd like to think. My use of the phrase ‘Little Quitlers’ was in direct response to Joey’s equally childish ‘Remoaners’ comment. And I certainly agree with you that those who declined to vote are ‘pig ignorant’. I’d also say that phrase applies to a lot of people who voted Leave based on immigration and xenophobia.
I think it’s a bit rich to complain about Remainers ‘pathetic name calling’ when you make comments like the one above.I agree that anyone who voted leave based on xenophobia is ignorant. I think it's also safe to say that much that votes of all kinds are massively hurt by the endless lies told by politicians. With the Referndum both leave and remain went to such preposterous levels to win votes that they left reailty behind.
I didn't mean remain voters were fools in general. I meant the people who voted remain for the reasons I gave right next to the line you highlighted and i think you knew that.I think it’s a bit rich to complain about Remainers ‘pathetic name calling’ when you make comments like the one above.
I knew what you meant mate, I didn’t for a second think you were referring to all Remain voters.I didn't mean remain voters were fools in general. I meant the people who voted remain for the reasons I gave and i thinkbyou knew that.
I don't think that's name calling. I thinks it's fair to say that anyone who made their vote based on social media koodos on either side is a fool.
