Pretty sure every Government in the world does that sort of stuff Joe.
Really where's our main industires disappeared then - our car industry is only an assembly line our manufacturing on a big scale has disappeared - Coal, docks, Steel etc etc - the term level playing field is always used leads you back to the underlying problem - the EU!
Latest uber taxis only yeaterday the EU decided they were unlawful six years after they have took control over parts of Europe - the mayor of London a socialist did it in 3 months!

our steel works savaged by cheap recycled steel from China the USA stopped it as they are a dependent country - the EU let it flood in to the UK!

The US use recycled steel too. Just like the Chinese. 80% of US manufactured steel is recycled and not Iron Ore based.

As for the US being self dependent (I think you are trying to say that right? Sorry, there are no commas or full stops, so it's hard to make out your sentence), that is simply not true. One of Trumps platforms to get himself elected was based on the fact the US has imported more Chinese steel than any other country. Which by the way is true.

The EU is to blame for everything in your view.

The UK car industry. Sunderland, Swindon, Ellsmere Port, Solihul, to name just 4 plants export gazillions of cars from the UK. "Production Line". What? Since Henry Ford built the Model T, every mass car producer does the same.

We are world leaders in tech, finance, film/arts/gaming. London is the 6th largest French city. Coal? Labour and Tory Governments closed them down, nowt to do with the EU.

the USA government stopped steel dumping from china

Not in our beloved country unless its stupid projects like windfarms!
A blight on the landscape and noise issues pollution!
they have just stopped the grants recently!

The JLR plant at Solihul was very, very, well supported by the UK Government Joe, As were the Nissan and Honda developments. Tata Steel in South Wales were given, *cough* "assurances" to keep them viable recently.

Firstly the article you published was obviously quickly googled which didn't you birate someone else for doing? That and it was over a year old.

It hasn't stopped companies in the US trying to get it from other ways.

http://money.cnn.com/2017/12/06/news/economy/us-steel-vietnam-china-tariffs/index.html

Just recently they hit Vietnam with am massive tariff due to US companies importing the Chinese steel through there instead.

There are rumours of other countries doing the same as in being a facilitator.

They will buy it no matter how they can.

Anyway overall American steel is made thew same way as the Cheap Chinese steel which was more my point.

You said it was down to the cheap and poorly made steel. But it really isnt the case. The US manufacturers use the same process. They just couldn't make enough of it like China could.
