I didn't think of that, do you think it wil be worse than 2009? Or the other businesses that have moved out of Britain and into Europe with the help of a grant from guess who. Or have you got absolutely no idea what will happen.

I can't tell the future but I think it's going to be far harder for many exporting businesses to operate with the decreases in trade opportunity and protection that this result bring. End result will be that jobs are lost and businesses are moved.

And yet the vote will have no meaningful impact on immigration whatsoever; so what was the point?

It will have an impact on immigration - the UK Government will now have to take responsibility for the policy of encouraging it in order to keep wages down. This will probably just mean that the impact fund makes a return, but it will have an impact.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm absolutely loving this lol
So many cry babies that think anyone who voted leave is actually racist and are supposedly thinking of leaving the country. See you then, horrible people won't be missed.

This ^^
Today social media is awash with self appointed leave campaign intelligentsia crying into their beer and almost wishing misfortune onto the country so they can say - Told you so...

Seriously considered unfollowing at least half my facebook friends today.

There needs to be a crackdown on multinational corporations benefiting from the EU's modus operandi. For example, just outside my home town there is a Waste To Energy plant being constructed, with the main contractor being a Swiss multinational company, now you'd think that the vast majority of workers on site would be local to the area, or even local to the region, heck local to the country, but no. They are all eastern european, doing the work for cheaper rates compared to a local worker. Think of it like a space ship - they come down, complete the construction then pack up and leave. Now ask yourself this, who benefits? who loses out? It doesn't take a great degree of intelligence to answer those two questions because they are so obvious. The multinational company wins, the workers lose out.

Now, of course I realise that such a practice will not change under a Tory government, indeed it would not have been different under New Labour, but the working classes need to gather themselves and remember that we hold the power, unite for the betterment of our country.

Anyway, I'm off for more beer

I'm not sure where they say they will pack up and leave, I read it as the opposite.
In the immediate future nothing will change as the order books are full (except A380) but in terms of future investments, new variants etc work will go elsewhere.

You misunderstand me - we have to adhere to the free movement of people if we want to trade with Europe - e.g. the Norway way.

http://openeurope.org.uk/intelligence/immigration-and-justice/norway-and-switzerland/

Immigration and border control are increasingly cited as the main reasons for why the UK should leave the EU. Those advocating exit often mention Norway and Switzerland as models the UK should follow outside the EU. However, this briefing shows that Switzerland and Norway have far higher levels of EU immigration than the UK as a proportion of their populations. If the UK had the same net EU immigration rate as Switzerland, it would mean nearly 400,000 more EU migrants a year.

So yeah, absolutely zero point, unless we don't trade with Europe and really do the "screwing ourselves completely over" thing all the way.

This thread should make for tremendous vaulting in years to come.

I hope by then, I've achieved my ambition of living in Canada.

They cope just fine - as many others do - outside of the EU - an institution not replicated anywhere else in the world.

I think we'll see more countries leave the EU over the next 10 years...

Less competition for jobs. Less competition for housing. Housing prices likely to reduce so that young people may actually be able to stop renting one day.
What about the loss of jobs, specifically from the service sector? The loss of international investment?
So much blind optimism.

We will see but not for a few years. By the time we are out I'm sure new deals will be in place, I'm not convinced we will see any difference in the business world.

Probably because it's beards away and never a member!

Also:

Negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between Canada and the 28-member European Union first began in 2009, with the agreement in principle reached in 2013. Implementation is not expected before 2017.

Eight years without a proper trade agreement, when there was political will to do so. Europe won't be as kind to us.

We'll get the Norway/Switzerland model after eight plus years, and have to accept immigration in the meantime and afterward anyway. And have no access to the rules of the single market. For no benefit or reason whatsoever.

Months even ??

There is no way Germany will export their Audis, Mercedes and BMWs to us now. No way...

Oh wait...

I'm expecting to complete a purchase on my first house next week and even so - hope this is true.

Its incredibly difficult, near impossible for young people to buy a house here. I hope housing becomes more affordable...

House prices are RIDICULOUS for people not on the ladder, I am looking to re-fix my mortgage pretty sharpish before my LTV slopes back off too far. However those who have bust a gut to get on it in recent years could be staring instantly at negative equity.

I am reading that a lot of people pulling out of sales this morning to 'wait and see' as it's likely the prices will drop off, is this worth considering before you complete?
