You guys are like broken records....

- It's the EU's fault
- It's Ireland's fault
- Ireland should be grateful for when we helped them. Ridiculous low blow from you to suggest Ireland should play along because a fellow EU member helped them out at one time . Absolutely arrogant British attitude right there.
- Ireland is being used by the EU
- We were going to leave it the same no issue here....

As for the highlighted yes there would be an issue. You cannot leave the EU and leave a big gaping hole in your border. Many people have tried to explain this to you and Pete and Oldblue. I am not going to repeat it for the millionth time because you choose to ignore the blatantly obvious and instead point fingers...

Of course Peter Bone would say that being a conservative and pro brexit. Broaden your base and see what a multitude of experts and economists and security experts have said about the whole thing. Stop living in a narrow ally way full of conservative views and media.

As for the Hard border itself of course the EU would bring it up because leaving the EU means figuring out your borders and people who can now not freely move. Oh that's right leaving the EU for you is simply trading with others and not being restricted and everything else will stay the same. Jesus wept....

Jeepers 1493 pages of the same tired argument and defense of a shambles. Its everyone's else's fault.

Yes it has been explained a million times and you still don’t get it. The only people who want a hard border are the EU, not the U.K., not Northern Ireland, not Ireland. The EU quite deliberately insisted on ‘sorting out’ the Irish border before discussing trade because they knew it was impossible while they insisted on a hard border. You say that the EU is right to sort out its border between one current and one soon to be ex EU member, while they completely ignore eastern borders and allowed a couple of million people to walk in and walk about the place. This is an EU inspired political argument for the benefit of those who want a USE, it has nothing to do with helping Ireland, Northern Ireland, trade, its people or the peace process. The EU are using Ireland as a proxy to beat the U.K., it’s very simple really........

What are you trying to say here?

The good Friday agreement look it up. That's all i will say as it seems you don't seem to get that and why NI is a special case.
From 1920 trade crossed a border less border in Ireland long before we got involved with the EU!
They are just causing trouble the next stage of talks is the trade agreement as soon as we agreed the divorce bill they threw that spanner in the works - they just want us not to leave end of well tough I hope the politicians of any party pat the price if they renege on any sort of Brexit using Ireland as a pawn before stage two talks on trade stated was out to. Always going to cause trouble - May needs to go and a proper leader put in place!
One who understands what a bent organisation we are negotiating with one who never audits its books has to be dodgy!

But if there is an open border, then de facto, there is an open EU/UK border. Like you say, its quite simple. Or is it?

The Irish government wants it sorted out as do those in Northern Ireland who fear the implications of it not.

Pretty sure that's been made clear...

Or are you going to insist on Ireland being puppets and being used again

The EU concern is you guys wanting to leave the EU and carry on like you still belong to the EU.

But sure blame the EU all you want ridiculous Pete. Not sure how many people have to explain this to you. Perhaps bracnh out from the express and what other right leaning material you get fed from.

Right but its not 1920 anymore and Ireland is now in the EU.

As are Britain, that has changed.

The good Friday agreement since the troubles has also been introduced since these free days you speak of.

Also for a black period there were checks on the Irish border. So it wasn't exactly free to move around for some time.

Now Britain want to leave the EU, so i'm pretty sure your 1920's - 1970's parameters have dramatically changed and are moot point.

You can't keep bringing up stuff from the past that no longer equates that's daft.

I think thats part of the brexit problem. Remembering the old days and how things were before the big bad EU took over and ruined it for you and your Britishness....

We can’t know what type of border is required until we have agreed our future trading relationship. The current approach was always designed to put pressure on the U.K.. The U.K. government should not attempt to undermine our leaving of the EU by playing these games. We have made monetary, Eu citizen and border proposals, if the EU now wish not to move to their stage 2, then we should walk away and prepare for life after the EU. May talked a tough approach about walking away if needed, but is failing to follow through. It’s time to say, either we discuss a future arrangement or it’s goodbye.......

So why did you vote for this? Seriously. About the only thing that all but the lunatic fringe agreed on in all this, was that it would be complicated. You voted without a clue just how complicated, nor what collateral damage it could cause.

I find that astounding.

But we get to make our own rules.

We do not wish to carry on like we still belong. We want OUT. The EU is trying everything to ensure we remain IN.....

It would be simpler if we got to phase 2 i.e. Trade talks but the EU are again taking the P!

Why are they? They see ROI as part of the EU. The UK voted to leave, so before anything can be taken forward, the issue of an open EU/UK border simply must be sorted.

But I am sure this was all covered in the Great Democratic Vote.

Its a pitiful state of affairs, so please clear it up.

Ah yes the change tact approach.

So you accept it was Ireland who were concerned about the future of NI then and not the EU. The EU are simply allowing Ireland to exercise its right to be concerned and get involved.

You guys can get out and stay out as long as you find a government who have the competence to figure it out and come up with a plan.

Its all one big bad EU conspiracy with you isn't it?

Are you serious? are you really serious with that question?

Leave the UK really you are equating an occupation by a foreign nation to being a member of a group ffs Pete that's embarrassing.
