There would be no issues if the EU had not gone Crawling to Southern Ireland the country Gearge Osborne bailed our with 9 billion Euros after the crash by the way !
Peter Bone today stated it was only the EU who wanted a hard border - if we leave on WTO rules we can determine a free tarrif in Ireland or if we strike a deal on trade like wise - Peter Bone stated it was basically stirring a storm in a teacup basically the EU spreading manure!!

I apologise in advance again Joe, but that is not true either. The WTO have what's known as 'most favoured nation' rules, which basically mean that unless you have a bona fide trade deal with a nation, you can't offer a preferential deal to one WTO member without having to offer it to everyone.

In other words, we could have a free trade deal with Ireland that has no tariffs, or we could offer all WTO members a no tariff arrangement, but we couldn't under WTO rules offer one to Ireland in isolation.

Good comeback Joey haha!!

Damn i forgot one on my list.....

- It's the EU's fault
- It's Ireland's fault
- Ireland should be grateful for when we helped them. Ridiculous low blow from you to suggest Ireland should play along because a fellow EU member helped them out at one time . Absolutely arrogant British attitude right there.
- Ireland is being used by the EU
- We were going to leave it the same no issue here....
- 'Remoaners', 'remainers', People voted to stay should accept that the majority of people voted out blah blah blah..... and so no questions ask and just accept whatever happens haha!!

There that's better...

The fact that there are a few of us here that don't live in the UK nor are we "remoaners" but sure why not!!
Well if you don't live here what are you moaning about?
If you are scred of proper border checks what are you hiding?

Who's moaning? I'm not moaning you labeled me as a moaner but nope not moaning.

I am Irish and i live in the US but forgetting that more simply i keep abreast of all news and the topic interests me.

I am sorry, i didn't realise i had to be British to comment.

Hey well thought out argument then screw opinion. If you are not from there, right? Anyone who disagrees or points fact to you is a 'remoaner'

Good Friday agreement dictates the freedom of movement in Ireland or have you not read that in the hundreds of articles and posts hence the issue Joey. Scared of border checks i resent that implication.

Under WTO rules we are free to do anything that would be up to the NI government if they wanted tariffs or not they would not be subjected to a third party ie the EU sticking their oar in its gamesmanship by your EU they who must be obeyed - thank god the DUP seen through this and stopped it dead!
NI is part of the UK and has been since the early 1920's - no EU then goods moved freely!

You'll probably ignore it like, but - https://www.wto.org/english/thewto_e/whatis_e/tif_e/fact2_e.htm

1. Most-favoured-nation (MFN): treating other people equally Under the WTO agreements, countries cannot normally discriminate between their trading partners. Grant someone a special favour (such as a lower customs duty rate for one of their products) and you have to do the same for all other WTO members.

Mr Google at it again can you not answer a post without referring to it Bruce -
I refer to it over my illnesses and do you know what maybe 10 different scenarios come up - you just choose what suits you - just answer your point of view Mr Googlelol
you would be cream crackered if it did not exist!lol

Don't deflect Joey. Way to side track. So i can't have an opinion then because i now live in the US? I am an Irish Citizen and i hold an Irish passport and thus am an EU citizen. My family and friends still live in Ireland. So of course it matters.

I am Irish and always will be. My current home has nothing to do with it nor does it have anything to do with how i feel your Government is incompetent. But sure keep taking personal shots or make assumptions

Ridiculously narrow minded Joey...

Also i haven't forgotten the slipped in bit above "If you are scred of proper border checks what are you hiding?" What did you mean by this?

Take a break and don't embarrass yourself you sound ridiculous and are getting a little of track and personal...

I know mate, without it I'd have to believe things that simply aren't true all the time. I'd probably have fewer wrinkles to be honest with you.

Bruce you can Google a subject and get 10 answers and pick your favoured answer - where you around in 1974?
I was we joined I was sold on the idea to join - the shockwaves it took on us joining were tremendous - no fuss the IN camp won - our food prices rose tremendously and VAT at 10 percent a new tax to replace purchase Tax -
The main beneficiaries were Farmers particularly the French farmers, why because at that time landowners had the largest polictical voice in parliment!
Now our Farming industry is on its knees - our fish industry wiped out all because of the EU !
Nothing is ever perfect as an organisation , but ATM the EU is behaving like the MAFIA!

I would say the WTO website would be a good place to get information on the WTO rules, wouldn't you?
Yes and only this week the head of the WTO stated he would welcome a country like the UK to join them and could not see any trade problems just like the EU deal with the WTO on their terms not our Bruce!
the average WTO tariff is 2-4% Bruce we are the 2nd highest contributor to that EU club costing us over 15 billion with rebates they decide what we spend those rebates on - how kind they are to us -NOT!
Even the Foreign aid budget if the % is not spent in march -it is sent to the EU for them to waste on our behalf !
OUT means OUT get used to it!

Anyone who does not to want have any border control i.e. Entering any seperate country i.e. No free travel this does not include Ireland it's one country sad it's history created all those problems dating back to Oliver Cromwell -
It's one country it can operate without the EU In the north as it has done before !

What are you trying to say here?

The good Friday agreement look it up. That's all i will say as it seems you don't seem to get that and why NI is a special case.
