I’m picking they were carried out but of course show the blindingly obvious, so it’s easier to just say we never did them.

It seems purposeful to me. Wouldn't be surprised if they're looking to frustrate talks to a point where they break down - leaving them the avenue to just walk away and blame everyone else.

Any leaver who says that it was 100% certain that we'd leave the single market and customs union at the time of the vote is either being disingenuous or re-writing history, as that was never a given.

I believed By voting to leave the EU, we would leave it’s bureaucracy, it’s courts, it’s laws, the single market and the customs union.......100%....that’s what I voted for......and what I still want.....

You're obviously in the minority mate, as the polls reflect.

What did you vote for. An EU superstate ?, an EU Army ?, EU expansion ?, Uncontrolled immigration ?. In truth you had less idea for what you voted for as those that you complain didn’t know what Leave meant.......

Well to be fair, anyone who voted to remain knew they were voting to retain the UK's current status in the EU. Conflating it with the ideas of EU Armies and expansion isn't really helpful as this is something that the Brexit referendum had and has no affect on. It's like telling someone they don't know that they're voting for the right politician as that politician could potentially murder someone next week.

The vote to leave was essentially voting for an unknown - or at least trusting that the likes of Farage, Johnson and Gove had a legitimate plan on how it would be carried out - 18 months after the vote and there's still no plan.

The biggest issue is that the 'leave' side never once spoke about any of the difficulties that would arise with a 'leave' vote - probably because they never believed it would pass.

If the UK doesn't have a completely independent body that provides unbiased information on referendums to the public.... they really should create one.

Leaving the single market and the customs union was never a given, the fact that's what you personally wanted is neither here nor there

The UK is being run by buffoons

'Buffoons' is practically a compliment.
It's so bad, I felt like I was being trolled watching it.

Either the perfect storm of arrogance and incompetence - or it's purposeful and designed to frustrate the talks.

I think what's happened is that politics has become so polarised and tribal now that politicians aren't even afraid of appearing inept anymore... they know come election time all they need to do is pay lip service to a couple of issues that their base care about and that (combined with the dislike of the 'other') will get them the votes they need.
