TBH the national minimum wage might well have resulted in many more (maybe not millions, but still lots) on the dole, had it not been accompanied by the rise of tax credits, agency labour and now the gig economy.

Companies use the minimum wage as a way to keep as many people as possible on it, it’s disgraceful really......

Oh dear... I should have used the facetious font.........do you actually have anything to say about the EU or are you just following me around........so you can keep tabs on me, I’ll be off to pick up my granddaughter from school soon, could do with some sensible conversation.......

pete,
On the guitar forums I go on, purple is used to denote irony, having a laugh, mickey-taking.
I do believe your comment has been misinterpreted by some as being serious, when in fact it was quite the opposite...

I get a lot of that.......you would think that they could work it out though.....

Just as well, because we'll all pay good money to see the back of the financial services sector I'm afraid.

Some, not all. Anyway it might lower the prices of housing in London, should please Bruce.......I think it may be worthwhile buying an apartment in Frankfurt......

Not a bad idea its an up and coming city. It's a nice city too. Maybe the 20000 people who work in London for these banks can move there right?

It’s a dump and no one will go there......

I was actually being sarcastic. Damn it, i forgot to put that in. Your right it is a dump i agree with you on that i was there for business and was not impressed.

It was more of a comment on the loss of 20,000 jobs in London because of the exodus. But job loss seems to be ok in some quarters of brexit fans because your country will thrive right?

Actually, i thought most of them would take after Bank of America and JP Morgan and move to Ireland.

Go an get em girl !

What a sorry state of affairs we find ourselves in.
Don't know whether to laugh or cry. We seem completely and utterly defeated by the remainder of the EU states.
Just when the other day, that German MEP is openly applauded by other members in Brussels when he told Junker and Barnier to grow up, and get real with the impasse, we hear that once again, the remaining 26 want more concessions not less.
