Individually no it wasn't, a collective of you means it was. Our generation and you at 41 are still with me, are the ones who are likely to suffer.

Well I was changing a tire on my car and the jack shifted when the wheel was off and I nearly lost my freaking arm, so I was kinda a little busy to vote, yano?

Because Cameron gambles, it was his choice to gamble it was also his choice to remain, he also thought we would remain, he is a buffoon.

fair enough.

but there are plenty of thigns we could have a vote to give our say on and it is never offered. Point is, why give is a vote if the real choices were prosperity and ruin?

that isn't a choice you elected give the masses?

I've never claimed to be knowledgeable in politics, but to me the main lesson to be learnt out of all of this is that the public simply don't know enough about politics or economics and something must be done about it. I'm not saying that the leave decision was the wrong one, or the right one, but the majority of people just don't understand the ramifications of either outcome. Both campaigns were an utter mess and full of scare tactics

Perhaps politics and economics should be compulsory subjects at school? Surely it would be far more useful knowledge than religious studies, for example.

Good post mate.

I'm sure he offered it as part of the Scottish referendum, he had to go through with it.

Just the general thought of the whole thing.

If leaving EU was so dangerous and could ruin the country.

Then why give us a vote on it?

Cameron put this into his manifesto as a short term way of gaining votes. He didn't think at the time we would actually leave, the idiot.

Surely he will be viewed as one of the most dreadful prime ministers ever?

Your point was that the Scottish voted against independence.

Mine was that many Scots (who would be eligible for a Scottish passport should one ever exist) were not given the choice to vote. And that many people who would not have been eligible for a Scottish passport were allowed to vote (and vote heavily to stay in the UK). In other words, it was not the Scottish necessarily who voted against independence but those who were deemed eligible to vote who voted against it.

Deemed eligible by the Scottish.

They set their own terms of their own referendum.

You haven't a clue what you're talking about. Those 2000 has absolutely nothing to do with the financial crisis. Unless you find them guilty by association.

My cousin was one of the european bosses of AIG (Who, incidentally, Max Keiser holds responsible for the crash) when the financial crisis of 2008 happened. He's now the 'strategic accounts director' (Fancy title for a gambler, eh?) of another world-leading insurance company, and has an office on the 2nd top floor of the 'citilink' building at canary wharf.

So kindly don't tell me I don't know what I'm on about. I've heard him brag about his bonuses and how much tax he paid on them (In fairness, he pays his full whack) He's well aware that he's making his moolah off the back of the ordinary working joe by immoral means, and letting the likes of me get slated by the right-wing media. And yet, he maintains the status quo; seeing nothing wrong with what he's doing/done.

Fact is he's part of the clique. He's guilty as sin; and so are those who act under his instructions. Ignorance is no excuse in the eyes of the law. If you're doing something that you KNOW is wrong but do nothing about it, you're complicit. No if's, or buts.

We've ALL suffered because of their avarice and swindling; it's time for payback. Let's see the bankers & city 'gents' having to go on work programmes and perform mundane tasks like building an eiffel tower out of straws 'to encourage teambuilding'

Let's see them jump through hoops to claim their pittance per week that the tories say is 'largesse' or generosity. Let's see them demonized every other hour on poverty porn shows incessantly repeated on Channel 5...They've been happy enough to see others go through it.

At least Iceland had the balls to jail their fraudsters. Rather than crib about them going elsewhere, you should crib about them not going to jail.

lol ...I'm inferring from this that the neo-liberal economic mantra of 'trickle down' hasn't really greased your wheels lol

'fraid not, squire.

Manchester got and gets a lot because Manchester unashamedly wants and goes out to get a/the lot.

There was a saying when I was a kid growing up in Salford that 'what Manchester does today, the rest of the country does tomorrow'.
And that attitude still prevails.
The powers that be in Manchester whether in commerce, trade and industry or local politics seem to have a more single-minded attitude than a lot of other cities. They actually think and some (genuinely) believe that Manchester is/should be the capital of the North if not the whole country.

Agree with almost everything there - especially the first bit, but NOT the last sentence!
