The Germans are beginning to wake up to the ramifications of a bad deal.......

"Influential MEP Michael Theure, who is the FDP’s spokesman on economics, said it was time for the government in Berlin to take back control of the talks and ensure they end in a good free trade deal.

He told the Telegraph: “We are hearing an uttering of concerns from German companies and trade unions about what could happen if there is a crash Brexit and no deal in place. Criticism is growing.

“Small enterprises are very concerned. There are also a lot of German companies that rely on financing from the City of London, and they are very happy with the service they get now.”

That's the stupid thing Pete. Everyone is hoping and praying we get a deal as near as dammit what we have already. There's no one out there saying there's a better arrangement lurking up David Davies sleeve. It's damage limitation from two groups hell bent on playing chicken with each other. The vast majority of Europe is still scratching its head and wondering why on earth we're doing it. It makes no sense at all for either party.

Do you STILL not understand, Bruce...?

Think that was always going to be a problem for the EU, they are speaking and dealing for every country in the EU as one, and in reality other countries may differ from the EU stance (even though they all say they are united as one)

It's a case of 'sabre-rattling' politicians being given a wake-up call by businesses in other countries. The businesses want to continue to trade with the UK on the best possible terms (obviously!) and DON'T want to hear their political reps potentially upsetting the applecart (obvious again!). It's a case of THEIR captains of industry being more 'politically savvy' than their actual politicians, who simply appear to want to beat us over the head with a big stick, come what may!

And before big Brucie jumps in, I'll answer his point: BREXIT IS MORE THAN JUST TRADE AGREEMENTS!!!

There will be a deal and we will be outside of the control of the EU.....win win......

I'd be utterly amazed if that was the case. Already we've seen concessions being made to the nuclear industry that we will try and remain inside EUAtom, whilst I'm almost certain that GDPR will apply to the UK (to give two examples of how we won't be outside the control of the EU at all).

Come on, Bruce, please put up sensible replies. It's called working TOGETHER. Which is quite different to being dictated to...
