Think edge was just being ironic, mate. If I've understood his posts on here correctly he's a fully fledged Brexiteer just like you and me ;)
Yea, but if i've understood OB2's posts correctly, he may have accidentaly voted remain ;)

Quite the most disgraceful post I've seen in this thread.

You ought to be ashamed of yourself for posting such a thing.

I'm not stupid - probably more intelligent than you'll ever be, if you were to know ALL about me;
I'm not misinformed - I form my own views from a lifetime of experiencing a whole raft of things;
I'm not racist - with a surname such as I have you ARE joking...
Little Englander - what does that mean exactly? I'm a Scouser, are you...?

You are a disgrace for posting what you did. And before you say, 'Oh that was just a joking reference made by others'. Nah, don't buy it. No need for it at all...
don't know were to begin mate, yes im a scouser, and for the rest erm read my other posts on herelol
my own side having a go at me now.

You made a whole lot of generalisations about us and called us all Little Englanders.

As I said "out of touch"...

It's not "out of touch" - it is what it is. I'm aware that a lot of people think that way, so I'm not "out of touch".

"Little Englander" is all about being afraid of co-operation with the outside world and wanting Rule Britannia to exist again. That generalisation I will stick by, because it is the constant in any argument for Brexit.

This image says it all.

It's pure folly to suggest that any deal regarding the practicalities of what happens with border controls / visas etc on Gibraltar shouldn't have Spanish acceptance. They have the ability to reject any deal as part of the 27 anyway, as the final deal will need universal sign off.

It raises similar issues as with the NI / IRE border, which was covered by May in her letter to Tusk, but she omitted to even mention Gibraltar which has over 5,000 Spanish commuting to work on it every day. The EU have highlighted the omission by specifically mentioning it, but the words alter nothing in terms of Spains right of veto, as they had one anyway. If you are unable to comprehend this simple fact and instead want to ride on the wave of Tory rhetoric on the subject, then you're right there's not much more to say.

I don't know if you are wilfully misunderstanding or that you genuinely don't understand. This has nothing to do with border controls or other trivia. We all know that Spain can veto any U.K. deal, but the bit you are missing is that Spain can agree a deal with the UK then veto its application or elements of it to Gibraltar......now do you understand.....

How is it any different to France vetoing the deal over farming or the Poles over migration, or indeed the Spanish vetoing the deal over healthcare for British expats?

Indeed, you could probably say that for any complex negotiation ever conducted. There are always relatively small groups that have a disproportionate say (see Wallonia and the Canadian trade deal).

The answer surely isn't to throw a strop or threaten military action, but to continue negotiating until people are happy?

It has nothing to do with disproportionate voice. It has nothing to do with who has a veto. It is about having a veto over a part of the UK, Gibraltar. It is like the UK does a deal but Poland says OK but it can't be applied to Manchester.....

So those who wish to leave the EU and trade around the world are afraid of co-operation with the outside world. You do realise there is another world outside of the EU......

Is it just me or has Gibraltar received more media coverage in the last few days than Northern Ireland has in a year with regard to Brexit.

That is because the Remain crowd don't have to appear to agree with Sinn Fein when they talk about it.

I expect the EU will come back at some point and say that Ireland also has a veto over any deal applying to NI so don't worry.........

I understand perfectly thanks. Spain could have vetoed our Brexit deal using Gibraltar as the reason. They now can't, but must agree any special status applied to it as an aside to the main deal. So what's changed? Hasn't the EU just removed a potential blockage to the main deal being agreed? If they didn't mention it, Spain could have held the entire deal up due to a dispute over the status of Gibraltar, now they can't, but they have retained the ability to object. Is that wrong?

I'm sure the practicalities of what happens with regards to border controls / visas etc aren't 'trivia' to both the inhabitants and the 5,000 Spanish workers btw.
