Which was an urban myth and has nothing to do with safety legislation which is what we were talking about

Well done mate.

That's the thing that has annoyed me the most.

When I was about, knocking doors, people genuinely couldn't tell me a single law that impeded them - other than the straight bananas thing.

20 years of a misinformation campaign by the media lead to people voting for/against something that will (probably) go against their best interests.

It's too simple for people to sit there and go "look at him, an 'intellectual elite' sneering at us". The situation remains, nothing has been considered beyond "out we go, COME ON BRITAIN".

I agree that people have been fibbed to over the EU, but the mere fact that the "intellectual elite" (though "political class and commentariat" is a better term, as the elite aren't that intellectual) are so obviously and visibly enraged by Brexit is a big reason - arguably the big reason - why leave won.

stright bananaslol
rules.

Commission regulation 2257/94 decreed that bananas in general should be “free from malformation or abnormal curvature”. Those sold as “extra class” must be perfect, “class 1” can have “slight defects of shape” and “class 2” can have full-scale “defects of shape”.

Nothing is banned under the regulation, which sets grading rules requested by industry to make sure importers – including UK wholesalers and supermarkets – know exactly what they will be getting when they order a box of bananas.

Exactly my point do we need an EU Parliment to come up with that crap?

So you now get it we voted out!

Exactly just accept it then!

I accept the result of the vote, if you can show me a time where I have said anything different then I'll quite happily apologise for not doing so.

My issue is this. We're leaving on the basis of "brexit now, or else" and it's not going to be helpful to anyone?

What about the loss of taxation from any reduction (even if "temporary") of trade within the single market? Our NHS and public services are already crumbling due to a lack of expenditure, how much more can we take?

What about workers rights? What about the rights of EU residents, currently living here? What about the rights of UK nationals living within the EU? I don't think having 1 million pensioners come over will be helpful at the moment with the NHS in the poor state it is in?

What about the guarantee of R&D money going directly into higher education, and not through industries that siphon it off and give what's left to other publicly funded subsided projects?

No answers yet, it's rushed and it's not helpful to anyone.
