I do not oppose any sort of agreements whatsoever. My throwaway example was just to point out how bureaucracies generate work for themselves, and in this particular instance in totally the wrong bureaucracy.......

That is still a daft point though; its not the UN (or UN-ECE) bureaucracy that came up with those standards.

If you want to criticize UN bureaucracy there are vastly better examples than that - what happened with DynCorp, for example (edit: more info on it here).

If you cannot see what this is telling you then fair enough......nothing to see here folks, move along, move along.....

How about pull out the part which states that the EU army is going to replace the armies of its member states? Or does it not state anything close to that?

sounds a good idea to me to have a euro army if practicable if you are a member of the EU, you could keep your own army but share some other things/costs , why is anybody bothered?
Cant see France getting involved in anything that takes away its armies independence.
Not are problem really as we are going out of it anyway , couldn't see the UK getting involved even if we stayed in the Eu as we are to busy selling are own weapons around the world.

Love him or more likely loathe him, you've got to admire Tony Blair, haven't you?

Probably the only man in the country who can unite both Leavers and Remainers. Old Tony opens his gob and literally everyone yells "shut the &^%$ up, you utter cretin".

He is right on this though, but people have long since stopped listening to what he says and just assumes he's talking pure bull manure every time he speaks.

I don't like him, but if you read the words and pretend it was written by someone else, it makes a lot of sense.

Most belived him on Iraq, and joining the Euro currency no street credibility what's so ever now he needs to crawl back under the stone he came from!
Caused more problems than he ever solved!
A breath of grease air to any brexiteers!

Whole bunch of people being wise after the fact. Hussein is believed to have murdered something like 250,000 Iraqi people (opponents usually) during his regime. Would you have been happy if Blair had shrugged that off as a quarrel in a far-away country between people of whom we know nothing?

That hasn't answered my question Joe. Yes or no will suffice. Would you have been happy if Blair had shrugged that off the problems in Iraq as a quarrel in a far-away country between people of whom we know nothing?
