cameron realised it would be a nightmare so didnt even bother prepping for an exit, it was an all out gamble

Cameron didn't think it would be a nightmare, he was simply too arrogant to think that he would lose an argument, or that he was wrong. I think it could've been a different result had Cameron had stepped aside in all conversations and just promised to do whatever the referendum decided.

I think it matters a huge amount as to why as much as how something takes place. The answer to why is the proximate cause of the referendum. Without suitable answers to the why and how then the legitimacy must be called into question.
The cause of the referendum it was in the democratically elected governments manefesto!

Harold Wilson did that he stated I will abide what the people decide , and implement it never went on a campaign trail either way!

agree, i think most people voted out because they wanted SOMETHING to change..

Perhaps, but most older people probably felt that we had been cheated by the politicians and were being taken in a direction we had never wanted nor voted for. There is a reason that younger people voted to remain and that's because they have never known any different and they wanted the status quo to continue. Some of us however had knowledge and experience of a previous status quo, and now after a failed experiment with the Eu would like to go back to it......

Takes two to tango look I was answering your point on the subject ok!
Well your response was decidedly rude, and you appear to have honed in on my comment that the Leave side peddled lies, where I clearly state both sides were as bad as each other.

For the record, I voted Leave, for no single reason, and certainly not cos I'm some UKIP fascist.

But you carry on being aggressive to anyone who contends with you, see how you get on.
