Erm....Hibbert

There is no doubt that he is a weak link and this is compounded with having Osman in front, who I also do not rate.

PhilW had it right about Hibbert and if you recall the Villa game they exploited that flank as well.

But about the yellow card although it may have been accidental, Malouda was through and that is the point. You have to recall that he completely out paced Hibbert who was struggling to get back and that is when the trip came in.

I do not care what any one else says but as far as I am concerned neither Hibbert or Osman are Premiership class, they belong in the lower division. If we were not so short of players I think they would have been given the elbow before now.

I tought he had the sun in his eyes or something for the whole first half, untill he didnt come out for the second.

I think that performence will haunt him for his whole career, he must be gutted to be subbed at half time.

I now have to bow down and agree with you Robert. Next year we need strong challengers for both positions to stem the tide. I think every Prem team has the playbook how to exploit us next year.

Thank you kind sir. :D

Well I'll have to say you may have a quick jaunt out to Turf Moor to watch our beloved blues. The last time I was at Turf Moor Ralph Coates was still playing for Burnley.

My old man who buys the Daily Mail has just shown a diagram printed in there showing the flank chelsea attacked on saturday . Do you know which flank had so many marks on it you couldnt see the pitch ? Yes you guessed it a certian Mr Hibberts patch . Tony Hibbert is a targeted weak link . He is the one player oppossing teams KNOW they can ruthlessly exploit . If your comfortable with that because in your eyes its " Once a hero always a hero " then good for you . Meanwhile in the REAL world we can see Hibbert for what he was , is and always will be ie NOT GOOD ENOUGH . If there is one thing I hate its Evertonians who defend the undefendable .

Yes, the same flank that Man City with the dangerous Martin Petrov tried to exploit again and again and yet nothing came of it. Frustrated Petrov so much that he kicked out and got a red card.

I don't know about you but I think most people would classify Petrov as a class winger.

For every match you think Hibbert was the weak link, I can find you one where he was the one of the strongest on the pitch.

If there's one thing I hate, it's Evertonians calling something "undefenable" when it clearly is. :D

He had a bad game because he was carded in the 7th minute. If Hibbo can't tackle then he's useless, he couldn't risk us going down to 10 men early in the game as well. Everything I've read from neutrals said that the card was a joke as well.

Hibbo has also had good matches against teams with pace such as Villa.

Leave the lad alone. He's probably gutted about the whole thing...

Hiddink spotted him as a weak link - along with Osman. So they went left wing everytime they got the ball. Hence, Tony was bound to be under more pressure than anyone else.

Good spot by Guus.

Too true.
Hibbo is oK against lesser teams, but whenever we face some real quality opposition he gets skinned alive. Osman/Hibbert on the right is always an invitation for the top teams to constantly attack us. For me, RB and RM are the priorities that Moyes must address this summer. He must try try to to reproduce the quality of Baines and Pienaar down the left.
Hibbo & Osman should be no more than squad players - brought in against weaker teams to give the first choices some rest and kept the overall squad on their toes.

Hibbert is a good right back and based on some of his form this year I'd be ok with him still being first choice next year. But I worry that after the cup final he's going to be consistently targetted by opposition teams, since he was so conspicuously and successfully targetted in the most high profile game he's ever played in. Won't do his confidence any good.

Im not defending Hibbert for a shocking performance here, but lets not forget Leon Osman.

Every single attack Cole and Malouda doubled up on Hibbert. That means we need someone else over there. Osman never helped him out once.

Not to mention the fact that he was on thin ice from the 8th minute.

100% Agree with that.

People accused Hibbert of not closing down Malouda cross for Drogbas goal - it was Osman who was stood closest who didn't bother to attempt to either stop or block the cross.

At the end of my tether with Osman.
