The good thing is that those people are basically regurgitating crap that they've picked up from all the usual media outlets, so remove those outlets and enough of them will wake up.

I think you are being unduly pessimistic. Using Twitter etc. as a barometer of the overall public is ridiculous. Sites like that are full of morons and anyone who takes any opinion expressed there as legitimate needs to give their head a wobble. Most people are decent, kind and care for their fellow man.

I don't think they would - the fact they are having to spend like they are on this, to devote so much effort (which of course almost certainly includes funding the free speech whoppers too) suggests to me those positions aren't things that people actually believe or would ever be likely to by themselves.
