I don't disagree with their aims though. I think it's their right to demand more. I think the way they're going about it is ludicrous and entitled and the only surprise is people have had the restraint not to run them over.

It's not just about an ambulance being stopped.
Isn't that an 'entitled' attitude too?

Anyway, too much banter about the methods etc., I still haven't witnessed any reasoned discussion or data regarding their claims. But we do need to act now re the climate, and crying about an over reliance on automobiles won't help.

Instead of using the motorway protesters as convenient scapegoats wouldn't it be more sensible of the government to engage in dialogue with them, take on board what they're saying and incorporate it into their environment policy which they claim is vitally important.

No. They have fossil fuel donors, if we weren't the second worst insulated nation after Dubai, they wouldn't make as much profit. Besides, it's not as though they intend to do anything about the vitally important stuff anyway. Maybe a bill or two dressed up as environmental, but actually just serving their own agenda.

It's about insulated housing by 2025 isn't it?

It's a stupid way to go about it.

Obviously, nobody is going to - in their right mind - actually run someone over. But there's plenty of vids of these people running out into the road/motorways.

There's no defending them

It's about insulated housing, though

Do you think they're possibly a government ran organisation? It seems a bit odd that they have managed to gain numbers from nowhere. Their leader comes across like a moron which makes people support further laws against protest.

It just all seems a bit odd.

It does seem odd that the group is that focussed on one particular issue. Big problem in the UK in particular though, I think that other European countries have had legislation re insulation for yonks.

Even with them being wombles about it, is there much discussion pertaining to the facts, or has all the media attention been emotive?

Unfortunately, they've played into the hands of the government at conference time. You could see the glint in Patel's eyes as she took the chance to propose a bill on crimes against infrastructure or some such bollox, while a hall full of rich people chortled away.

Make no mistake - the government don't give a flying one about the environment beyond making worthy noises at glamorous world events as we're about to see.

Instead of engaging with the issue and finding out why these old crusties did what they did it's just all been swept further under the carpet.

Quite. Like I've tried to point out, there have been a few opportunities of late to cut our emissions significantly, and every time the government have subsidised failing carbon intensive models with our money AND against the public's financial interests.
Can't wait for Johnson to roll out his amazing solution next month. Probably be unregulated carbon trading as a growing Ponzi scheme.
