Short term realities of dummies or you know actual scientific data realities?
Capitalism is a pain in the ass, who knew... I've often said there needs to be some sort test to pass before casting a vote in a election... Good proportion of the electorate says one thing and does another, Green agenda is not exempt from nimbyism, anecdotally its the gold standard of British Nimbyism, nothing here changes that view.

Weren't the californians moaning not so long ago that AI data centres were so power hungry that they were predicting brownouts?

Not sure...I don't know how (excess) solar power interfaces with the rest of their power supply infrastructure. I do know of friends in San Diego who have negative electric bills because of the panels on their home, but I'm not sure if excess solar power can be used as "normal" electricity in different parts of the state. Hopefully someone here can explain it to me.
