Enthusiasm - it feels different

Proper football team now mate.

A balance of skill, aggression and solid defence buoyed by a manager courageous enough to say "don't care who we play let them worry about us", it's been the bedrock of good teams since football was invented.

Too many idiots managing in the British game complicating a simple game to justify their huge wages fkn morons they are, Roberto clearly tells players they are footballers so go and play like footballers and good players revel in it.

His judgement is spot on he realises we don't have dough so without complaint smashes the "loan" system, he plays the media and fans like a virtuoso we are damned lucky to have the best young manager in the world here at GP.

We should worship him like a god so when the money crew come sniffing his heart and soul is so welded to L4 no amount can uproot this honourable man.

I have a feeling he will be Barcelona bound in six or seven years.

But he will stay here with us and leave a superb, trophy laden, CL competing team behind him.

JDawg started a thread about 12 months ago ( ? maybe in Jan ) asking why we couldn't push on for a CL place and the majority view was that, even with an injection of new blood in the transfer windows, we'd miss out. It's very different this season. The old hoodos have been blown away down the East Lancs and there's now a real belief in the club from players through to supporters that we're capable of top 4.

We might not get there, but we know with Martinez in charge that we'll have a damned good go and, at the very least, it'll be fun trying.

Yeah I got battered a bit in that thread, but I'm no longer in the wilderness. It feels good for everyone to be juiced up and optimistic.

Even Davek. It's mind boggling.

I don't want this to sound new agey, but the first step is actually believing you can do things. Not the other way around. You don't get to wait until you've achieved something before you get to believe you can do it.

RM gets that. No fear.

Me too Pete, when they scored I just had this feeling that it wasn't quite over, that there was still time, and as long as there was still time, there was 11 players not willing to give up, because they believed they could do it. And so they did.

that seems to be the big difference

Under Moyes, we'd not have equalised.[/QUOTE
]

Most teams would have lost 2-nil after the Arse scored that goal

As soon as Arsenal scored I knew we would go searching for the equalizer with purpose but the negative in me thought that Arsenal would exploit this and get a second goal. All I was thinking is how cruel would that be after the performance we put in. Things worked out just fine though...COYB

He was very gracious in his post match interview too.

Yes he was on the televised one but he later said that our goal should not have stood. Something about Lukaku offside then dangerous kicking then had the cheek to say that each time Arsenal tried to break we reverted to foul all match. He is a totsl whinger.

We need to put Fulham to the sword next weekend as another statement of intent. Sack of these draws (though today was a fantastic point) and go all out for wins during this run of 7 very winnable fixtures.

If we can get 15 points we'll be right in the mix.

If we play the likes of Osman, Naismith, Jelavic we are asking for draws.
