Enner Valencia

thing is, is there a chance that the ecuadorian police force and legal system are siding with a resident no matter how wild her claims are, over another citizen who is off in england earning a shed load? So as a case and point of making an example of the rich footballer, they try to bring him to rights over it?

Or do you actually believe he is a terrible person and no chance that a random woman who he encountered is trying to milk him for his money by using a child against him? Like that never happens?

I can admit i was wrong in my way of thinking, but it seems to talk negatively about valencia in this is pretty much not believing the truth and just going on a tabloid version instead.

And all that is purely down to him being a player that wasn't wanted here mate or has been deemed 'crap' / a panic signing (which may well be the case).

The point is I'm pretty sure had it been Lukaku in a similar situation, or if we'd have signed Mata or a player that everybody else wanted, nobody would have been slating him.

completely true. I was quick to opinion on the matter as well , i'm as guilty as anyone but have held my hands up over it.

the problem i think is that so much tabloid media picked up the story that it seemed to be true. If one or two sources said it then fair enough, but so many outlets all at the same time had that version that questioning it would have been a bit mad.

As it happens, the reality is more realistic and instead of being some jail bouncer he is just like anyone else in his position, a dad being taken for a ride over a child, just like any dad in any country in similar positions. Milk him for all he is worth to save working a day in her life and know he will pay up (until recently) because he actually cares for his daughter. Again just like any slapper on a saturday night in town wanting to pull a doctor or football player.

Are'nt you repeating the same mistake you made before?

On the face of it absolutely.

but when i football player feels the need to release a statement on social media to clear his name then i would imagine that it would be very damaging if said statement turned out to be false. Therefore i am more inclined to believe his side of things rather than go on what is essentially a story out of nowhere based in tabloids.

Plus basing on the fact that the ecuadorian woman sounds just like any english woman who does the same to anyone here, there is a huge chance of some truth in Valencias words.

Nice Ash.

I'm sure it's not cut-or-dry either way, but the fact is that too many people jumped to conclusions and I'm sure it wouldn't have happened had it been a signing that everybody wanted, as an example.

Custody and maintenance are 2 different things as anyone who has dealt with CSA knows.

He hadn't fulfilled what he had agreed to hence why the court order was in place and the police chasing him. Don't get me wrong, Im glad he paid something but I was basing my opinion on the court order and police action rather than gutter press as you describe them.

Have you read the statement at all? He was paying all that was agreed between them. She then claimed for more. After an investigation as to why she would need 30k pm, it was found that she wasn't spending the money on the upkeep of her child, and was in fact leaving the 5 year old child in the house on her own while she went out spending the money partying/working.

Upon filing for custody he was ordered by a judge to stop any payments to the mother. She somehow got them to reopen it while he was out of the country, and it is this money that they are claiming back (the reported 17k, of which he has paid a portion of as well by all accounts).

Now I'm sure that the actual truth lies somewhere in the middle of the two stories, but some of the evidence that you are looking for is that he has paid her 50k per year as he was required for the last 2 years, and can be seen on a website. Also, she has previous convictions for abusing a minor. She doesn't seem like a particularly nice person in all honestly, but whether some body seems nice or not is not something you can hang them by, much less being how good you think they are at their job.

Some of the knee jerk reactions on here were embarrasing, and while I'm not for a moment saying that people should come out and apologise, mostly because the 'truth' isn't out there yet, maybe it will make one or two think twice next time.

well hopefully the whole truth will be available soon. And for the record, my opinion was never based on him as a player, it was solely based on the existence of the court order and the police actions, both of those were indeed factual. Happy to be proven wrong when the further court proceedings are concluded.

He should have had it sorted before setting foot in the country.

I'd also be surprised if any other player would leave themselves open to being in that position.

I certainly took the side of the party that appeared to be 'wronged' - namely the child. Up to now his actions and 'explanations' have done nothing to change my mind.
I am sure he won't sleep tonight knowing I don't respect him. Unfortunately modern times dictate that 'celebrity' tends to win over everything regardless of how said celebrit/ies act.

Also unfortunately there are enough 'liberals' who let them act this way and are happy for them to ride roughshod over laws they choose.

He's not worthy. Get rid.
