pretty common for employees to be disciplined for breach of a court order, or for breaking the law in general. Football is like any other job in that respect.

Its not like any other job at all because your personal life wouldnt be played out in front of the media whilst people give him crap without knowing anything about it. Its totally different and every employer I have worked for would actually be pretty understanding of the situation. They wouldnt discipline me coz it has bugger all to do with them.

It happened on duty for Ecuador, in a foreign land, under foreign laws and he isn't even our player! What do you want the club to do? Put him in stocks at half time and pelt him with rotten tomatoes? Bit of waterboarding?

GOT would make a cracking jury.

Day 1: "Counsel for the prosecution said he did it, send him down"

Day 2: "Counsel for the defendant says he didn't do it, everyone who said he should go down yesterday is A LEFTIE PC MORON"

Day 3: Everyone's head falls off

Hes just put out a statement via twitter of what happened [havent read it yet]

Well.....

I'll stand corrected on what i previously said then.

Forum know-it-alls in not-knowing-the-facts shocker.

Since when have facts got anything to do with any forum?

So now we have his side of the story are we going to wait until the mother of his child has her say?
Or are we to accept his statement as the full and final truth on this matter?
Like others, I saw him being chased from the pitch in a effort to evade arrest. If this happened on a Sunday league pitch it would be unacceptable but it seems to some it's ok as he is a 'blue'.
The more reasonable response would be to go with the police and have the lawyers get me sorted after 5 minutes in clink.
But no, we are to accept the words of a man that acted in a pathetic and deceitful way in front of the whole world, as being the gospel truth.

I'm sure the real truth lies somewhere in between his statement and the warrant for his arrest but to me he has acted in a way that has destroyed any 'respect' I may have had in him as a man.

He is not worthy of my support.

So you'd believe the Equadorian Police Force to be unable to arrest a man lying prone on a stretcher?

Playing Possum??

????

He didnt want to get nicked. The paperwork submitted was meant to be with the judge (or similar) but had not got there. He did not want to go to Ecuadorian jail for something he had acted to sort out.

I'd have run too.

You were MORE than happy to take her side without knowing anything about it.

I'm sure that he is gutted that he has lost your respect.

thing is, is there a chance that the ecuadorian police force and legal system are siding with a resident no matter how wild her claims are, over another citizen who is off in england earning a shed load? So as a case and point of making an example of the rich footballer, they try to bring him to rights over it?

Or do you actually believe he is a terrible person and no chance that a random woman who he encountered is trying to milk him for his money by using a child against him? Like that never happens?

I can admit i was wrong in my way of thinking, but it seems to talk negatively about valencia in this is pretty much not believing the truth and just going on a tabloid version instead.
