40k a week...

Like every true toffee, I wish him all the best and hope he does well for us. Unfortunately, there is no evidence to suggest he will... none whatsoever.

Whenever I've seen him, he has gone to ground easily and loses possession when in promising positions. Top that off with a poor injury record and it doesn't bode well. I would like to know who pursued this loan and the reasons why, because I can see no evidence why he would be a good signing for us, I really can't. Bony would have been a much more sensible signing, IMHO.

sounds a bit much for a player that wasnt in the first team for west ham.

I'm trying to be positive and I'll give the lad a chance, but I just can't help it...my prior opinions and gut feeling just scream "he's pyar tosh".

And you're right hate to judge the lad before a ball is kicked but he's poor.

With the names we were linked with I like many are a bit underwelmed by this transfer. I'm willing to get behind him though, his attributes seem to fit in with Koemans style. Fast, hard working and strong.

Not really the end to the transfer window I had hoped but still, we have got him on loan so there is no risk attached to this deal at all.

Fast, hard working and strong.

He's certainly not strong, mate. Goes over easily from what I've seen. Quick but lacks end product. Don't dispute, hard working. I think he's been selected in all west ham's games so far, so there must be something positive about his attitude.

I realise that I am in a minority, but I think this will prove to be a very good signing..

He is a far better player than some on here seem to believe, but at West Ham , everything just went sour for him.
That can happen with any player at any club.

A lot of us thought that Galloway would push Baines hard for a place this season and very few of us really considered Holgate, a new manager, a new perspective and there are winners and there are losers.
At West Ham, Valencia was a loser under Bilic, he chose to go a different way.
I think Valencia offers something very different to Lukaku, is at a good age, is settled into the Premiership and just two years ago was very highly rated.
He offers great pace, can score goals and has plenty to prove to people.
