"The Ecuador striker's future remains in the air, with the Blues prepared to walk away from talks to turn his loan deal into a permanent one."
From the Echo today. Doesn't sound like they're convinced this one's truely over yet.
I fn hope it is. WH have bid for Iheanacho (source Sky). If we end up missing out on the City player, while contributing half of WH's funds for him, so we get a player that clearly lacks quality it'll be sickening.

We can't 'miss out' on a player we may not be in for though.

Enner changed a bunch of games when he was brought on as a sub. Really don't see the issue.

He'd cost what 2m more than Lookman? Todays prices are inflated anyway, and he has bags of experience in comparison and we have a huge amount of games upcoming and only 1 actual striker in Rom (who might leave)

Other strikers exist though mate. Valencia hasn't produced enough at this level for West Ham to make a profit on him.

I'd take him for about half of what they're asking for as a squad option. Any more than £7-8m, move on without a second thought IMO.

It's from this afternoon, Sunday 28 May.
"Enner Valencia took a vacation to the Atlantis Palm resort in Dubai with his wife and their two young children.
However, the Ecuador striker's future remains in the air, with the Blues prepared to walk away from talks to turn his loan deal from West Ham into a permanent one."

Can you link me to the story cos I honestly cant find anything from today posted about him.

Who knows who we're really in for but we have been linked to Iheanacho. What is certain is that we need another striker if Rom stays and 2 if he goes. While we're waiting for Rom's resolution Sandro would be ideal given he's cheap and proven in La Liga.
It looks to me though that we've offered him enough wages to enable him to use it to leverage a better deal from Spanish clubs but not enough to make him seriously consider leaving sunny Spain unless it's a last option.
If we get a definite no from him soon I'd love to see us in for Iheanacho who'd be a much easier sell as he lives in the area. I suspect we wouldn't seriously try though as City have said £20m and I doubt we'd be willing / able to spend that on a striker unless and until Rom leaves.

'Linked' - we've had a few vague references in some papers looking to fill column and website space mate. We may well be interested, but there's nothing concrete to say that we are either.

Sandro - it's all speculation. All we know is we've seemingly agreed to pay the buyout (not much, relatively speaking) and will have offered him a decent package. It's Atleti who might be getting him, not like he's (potentially) turning us down for Celta Vigo or Betis. If the rumours (and I stress, rumours) are to be believed than he actually disregarded Sevilla as well. Plus Sandro and Iheanacho are two different types of players in the way they play.
