One bit of good news, I suppose.
"The ECHO understands that after weeks of talks, Everton are in the process of walking away from negotiations."
This has obviously been fed by the club. It confirms that we were seriously interested and engaged in lengthy talks but weren't able to secure the right price.
It shows we're bargaining hard for every pound and being 'in the process of walking away' leaves the door open if West Ham are willing to lower their price.
Don't be surprised if we ultimately end up back in for him if we don't land alternative targets and WH can't shift him elsewhere.
*crosses fingers we land other targets.
Thing is just because we have money we still have to be sensible with it, throwing it around like Liverpool do and over spend gets you nowhere. If we are not signing him because we have much bigger and better targets then fair enough, if it is because we are penny pinching then nothing has changed at Everton.
Over to you mosh
Just read that he was the 2nd most effective substitute in the league last season, behind only Giroud (in terms of goals+assists).
Again, if we were to sign him as a squad player I wouldn't moan. Especially with Europe as well. He's always positively affected the game when he's been brought on.
Better than KoneNo mate, honestly, just no.
