Players content to be squad players who are also tenacious enough to actually give it 100% and play well when used as a substitute are rare.

I want us to sign top class players and I hope we do. If we don't sign Valencia I won't be bothered, assuming we sign someone else. But I just think we were harsh on him, and if Ronny wanted him to continue as an option on the bench to stretch games late on, I wouldn't moan.

Hes not good enough mate, sure he came in and he did a job, but its a job you would expect 95% of pro footballers to be able to do, hes not gonna improve, sorry to go full Zat, but I would rather spunk the 12m or so on a young lad with actual scope to improve.

But that's my point, 95% of footballers didn't do that job. That job being a late game substitute. I don't see what the problem would be if we had him here to do the same thing next season.

Do I want him to replace rom? No. I don't even want him to be our 2nd choice striker. I'm hoping we keep rom and sign another top centre forward to push him and rotate with him. But why isn't enner Valencia good enough to be an impact sub? When he proved last season to be an impactful sub....

Enner changed a bunch of games when he was brought on as a sub. Really don't see the issue.

He'd cost what 2m more than Lookman? Todays prices are inflated anyway, and he has bags of experience in comparison and we have a huge amount of games upcoming and only 1 actual striker in Rom (who might leave)
