Football supporters in liking a player who isn't very good shocker more like.

For me anyway, it's a bit small time.

I don't think it's small time for supporters to have a soft spot for a player who appreciates their club

To me, it's far more small time to cow tail to a big name star player who clearly thinks the club is beneath him

But okay, that is different perspectives

It's probably something in between.

Feels small time to praise a player who 'tries hard' but actually isn't very good or doing anything to improve the team.

I'd rather enjoy an actual good footballer playing for Everton and making a difference. Whether their heart is here or not.

The very minimum we should expect is players to give 100% every single game.

Sadly that doesn't happen all the time as we know.

I pray he doesn't turn up here.

In fact if come July we announced him coming in as a new signing i would be done with this club. My faith would be gone in the people running it, just be arsed about the players we did have come the end of the window rather than be optimistic we might actually look to improve.

I think Stracq knew that he wasn't up to the level needed but decided to give it everything he had to try to make the grade.
It will probably be the year in his life that will always stick in his mind and something his great grand children will talk about.

Evertonians loved him for his effort and his honesty and because of this they forgave him for his shortcomings and made him into a kind of cult hero.

Lukaku has the talent that Stracq. could only dream about but there is a question mark about his attitude and on more than one occasion he has downed tools and just lost interest.

I would love to see a player of that ability stay, but strangely I will be less up set about his leaving than I should.

Straq was a comedic ironic cult hero. So [Poor language removed] he's good, sort of thing. He tried, we liked the underdog.

Lukaku grates because we know he's a deadly quality finisher, not perfect in other aspects of his game, but a high grade goal getter. And deep down we're secretly worried he's right: that he may be too good for us in our current standing.

Plus he's being a tit with these interviews. You want to leave, fine. Do it with dignity.

Stracq put his heart on the pitch and knew he wasn't good enough for the long-term. How anyone can dismiss that or make it out to be a bad thing to like him I don't know.

but okay, that is football.
