Enner Valencia

Yeah he's not good enough for a club that wants cl, but we're not there yet, and if we make euros next season we need depth.

I wouldn't mind signing him, though the price is high...

The price is high, but as people are talking about in the Lukaku thread, if we end up with a silly amount of money to spend clubs are going to put prices up on us anyway, the fact Koeman knows this guy now, if we do take West Hams deal im confident Koeman will know he is worth it for us and the roll he wants from him.

I can research but don't feel like it - what did West Ham pay for him? That's where our negotiation starts. They shouldn't be looking to make a profit on him. With Europe next year and hopefully taking the Cups more seriously, you could do a lot worse than Enner - it's not like we're going to have materially better than him knocking down our door to play for us before we are in CL

Only 12m to buy him apparently, not the 14.5m originally thought- according to the echo.

Oh god, it's either
1) we paid a 2.5mm loan fee for him (which will be deducted from the fee)
2) we're strongly considering signing this bog standard player and the echo have published the purchase price as being lower so that fans think "ah well for only 12 million he's not a bad backup"

His first season for West Ham he was brilliant. His performances started to dip, he was getting less playing time and started to become disinterested. Seems to me, a player who is playing for a contract.

Thanks, but no thanks.

paddy boyland just gave a fanatastic stat on city talk from gavin butland.

During valencias last 88 minutes on the pitch we have scored 8 goals.

Pretty sure we have something like 18 goals in the last 10'minutes of games which is the highest in europes top 5 leagues.

Manager has to take the credit for this

Wrong ... Valencia takes all the credit for this :)

I quite like his foot skills around the edge of the box - seems to be able to keep hold of the ball while looking for options - could be very useful next season.

If Koeman fancies him then i'll take him for 12m. With Europa League next season we need bodies and he's done well when called upon. Happy to play second, or sometimes third fiddle to Rom and co but has had a positive impact when coming on.

I have decided I don't care what he costs, it's not my money so it doesn't really matter.

I would be surprised if we signed him full time though purely because of the fact that Koeman has hardly used him this season.

12m isn't to be sniffed at. Could buy a goal machine like Niasse for that.
