England the pride of the home nations

Historically, most footballing talent in England came from the East end of London, with the spine of 1966 team coming from there, and recently players like Adams, Terry, Beckham, Lampard, Coles, Ferdinand, but recently, there doesn't seem to have any players from these areas. I wonder what happened with the footballing culture in those areas.

All the areas they could play were bulldozed for the olympic site!

Say if they binned the tossers in the first team, and used the cup winning u20's- I'd likely have more enthusiasm for England. It's also the England fans, they are the Kopites (mixed with Chelsea), of the international scene- over the top, borderline xenophobic banter, self-entitlement, getting off before full time.
The fans of other home nations are generally a delight in comparison.

I'm Welsh but wanted England to do well in 86, 90, 96 and 04 tournaments but last few years have been a right shambles and the attitude of the media and the behaviour of the fans haven't helped.

Ask yourself this question, as a neutral why would you want to choose to get behind a Southgate team with that bunch of toxic, ego driven beeps? (Pickford excluded obviously)

For his sake I hope he does well, but not so well he starts getting tapped up by the English mafia to go to a 'big club'.

The arl fella was from Huyton, so I will always root for England. His mother was Scottish, so I will always root for Scotland. My mother is from Graz, so I will always root for Austria. I am a Canadian, so I will always root for Canada. Thank feck only one of them made it this time....

England isn't big enough to be a country on it's own. They should all just be together by default.

I'm from Edinburgh but I'll be hoping England do well - for Pickford apart from owt else. I used to do Schadenfreude but what's the point?

Scotland's spectacular comeback at Hampden in the qualifiers shows that we're not too far behind England, even now.

I've always said Scotland are the international Everton
